I probably first saw him as a kid in Batman Forever, but that's not what did it for me. I had a boss that was really into movies, and that's what we talked about most of the time. He recommended that I check out Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, because he said Val Kilmer was great in it. I really liked The Salton Sea, but it had been a while since I watched it, so I watched both. Val Kilmer's weight has ALWAYS fluctuated. He's gotten heavier then thinner and then heavier again for whatever role he is playing. Val Kilmer isn't above making himself look nasty if it will make him more believable in a role. Many other actors are too vain for such things, but there are those like Val who will do whatever they need for a role...change physique, hair styles, etc. He probably looks the way he does for whatever...

Why not do some of the really good dramas and other quality films that go DTV or have small theatrical runs. In the past couple months why do Chaos Expirement, Thaw, Streets of Blood, and Hardwired when he could have been in stuff like American Violet Fragments Maiden Heist Brothers Bloom Away We Go His name still has a draw. Trust me I work in a video store, when his name is on something it does rent. Why not at least be a part of some good...

If you were truly sorry you probably wouldn't post such a thing in the first place.
It's a bland saying people use when they use it in front of something really nasty in order to make themselves feel better about how they look and seem when saying something they know is unnecessarily nasty.
But you are entitled to your opinion. However now that you have stated it, where do we go from here?

He's been in some great films, and had great roles, but he's done a few bad movies.
My favourites are probably The Salton Sea, The Doors and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but I need to see more of his films. I still haven't seen Willow or Tombstone, and I haven't seen Top Gun since I was a kid.
For recent films he's been in I enjoyed his role in Felon, as well as the movie itself, but Conspiracy ...
