Or maybe the toys arn't really alive and they don't really move and they are just figments of the audience's imaginations...

We all know when we talk about a Pixar film, we are talking about something special! But why is this? Every film they have produced has been " a big deal " and a hit at the box offices. Is it to do with their ideas, creators, directors, or the companies state of mind? Dreamworks is probably their biggest rival, but for me, Pixar still overalls. I need to find out why you all think this is to help me answer my A Level film...

Did not like this movie!

wow im not used to this so im not sure where to start...or to start at all. but i will say the simplicity of the film lends to its timeless-ness(if thats a word) the smaller humor is great throughout the film...and it's about something that any of us should be able to relate to...a kid and his toys in all fairness if you liked it when you were in 2nd grade then the film did its job...because most second graders will always love this one...

I think it is a combination of all of your ideas listed. Their stories tend to be superior, characters better developed, and they spend A LOT more time on their movies, period. Think about how long it takes from the beginning of an idea to the release of a film with Pixar. . .over ten years, and even all the storyboarding and animating alone take many many years. Look at things like "happily never after" and...

Yeah, but this isn't a horror flick. You laugh at me because I'm different, but I laugh at you because you're all the same.

What was the smallest funny scenes in the movie to you? I like how Woody smile when Bo says "Im only a couple blocks away". And when the toys are up at the window looking at Sid, then Buzz says "Whats goin on?" and Woody says "Nothing that includes you Space Rangers, just us Toys!" and Buzz says "Then I better take a look at it".

I love this movie, but one thing bugs me, whenever a human appears, all the toys "play dead" but why does Buzz do the same? He doesn't believe he's a toy and thinks he's a real space ranger, so why then does he also "play dead" and act like a toy in human presence???

It strikes me as strange that Andy is so well adjusted without his dad around. Where is he? Dead? Divorced? Why did they sell their house, where are they moving etc. Anyone else notice this too? It's been driving me crazy for years! Does anyone know if we can email John Laciter? lol

This is a very controversial subject for anyone who grew up with this movie. I liked it when I saw it in 2nd grade but went back and watched it recently. Conclusion: I did Not like it. The story isn't very deep, and neither are the characters. I never got to feel any deep emotional attachment to any of the characters, and I don't think that they didn't therefore move the story ...

Don't get me wrong, it's a great film, probably the best Pixar film ever made. It is still very much enjoyable. But I think it is a little outdated. I mean today's kids aren't really interested in action figures like they were when this film was made. I just can't see people going crazy over a toy who's best feature is as Woody put it, a little light bulb that blinks. Today I would think the ...
