Mahogany has some weird looking warts growing on his chest. what were they? why did he save them? why didn't he just cut them all off? Forth, and fear no darkness

Gotta love how so-called "fans" pingeonhole the horror genre nowadays. You know, it's not exactly impossible for a movie to be both horror AND sci-fi at the same time. There's not a single argument on this planet that could convince me that John Carpenter's The Thing isn't an horror flick, and that it belongs more along the likes of Star Trek and Back To The Future. No, just...no, man.

I just think that someone that comes along and shows natural fighting instincts, ability, violent tnedencies and amazing durability would make a perfect butcher.

A few people have mentioned that it was mentioned in the commentary and though I love Cronenbergs adaptation of The Fly and usually consider an homage a nice touch of fun, I still consider the scene a bit pointless, if not just outright bad for the storytelling of the movie. If his attempt was to create a “WTF” moment then he full on succeeded. On the other hand it makes it a sort of poor homage since the original scenes were...

Reading all this i thought "you guys are crazy, no way that was anal, he can't just put in there straight away, not even after a quick butt lick". Anyway, after seing it again, and since there's a little pause and it goes straight away to the penetration, it's obvious by her reaction that it was indeed anal.

If his attempt was to create a “WTF” moment then he full on succeeded. On the other hand it makes it a sort of poor homage since the original scenes were showing the transformation of Seth Burndle into Brundle-Fly and his acceptance of it. I get what you're saying. I hate gratuitous "film-trivia homages" (ie: any moment of any Rob Zombie film), but I considered this one more of a subtle nod to...

It Would've Been a Great Horror if they just didn't pull it Sci Fi at the ending don't get me wrong I liked the movie it was good but Imagine a Subway Serial Killer Wow it would've Been cool I'm talking sequels, fans every thing. A new Killer will join the famous list of movies serial killers. But no... They Had to pull it Sci Fi. *beep*!

I don't think Mahogany is meant to be supernatural. All the violence is the movie is over-the-top and exagerated, however, because of Kitamura's directing style.
The fact that Rampage almost defeats him is just meant to show that, after years of doing his job, Mahogany is starting to get old and out of shape and needs to be replaced soon (in the original short story, Mahogany remembers a time...

Not really. The demons needed to be feeded that night, and the black guy had no idea what was going on, just that some white guy with a hammer tried to attack him. The only reason the black guy got the upper hand in the fight was because Mahogany had those things and he neglected to cut them off or something. He`s getting older.

Its a pretty imaginative story. It was made because it was an adaptation of the short story. I thought it was really good. Strong acting, cool cinematography and one of the best horror films I've seen in a long time.

I haven't read all the hypothesis, but the tumors are simply a way of explaining the audience the decay on Vinnie Jones' body, and the fact that he's starting to lose steam. Or you could think that it is caused by the contact with the "others".
