I thought it was amicable all along... Anyway, yes, no hard feelings whatsoever. I've debated this very topic with others more than a few times so it's nothing I get worked up over. It's like changing the oil in my car - it has to be done every so often ha. I'm not so sure we differ, anyway. We both agree the strategy adopted by the Council was secrecy, and that secrecy implies no Eagles. We also agree that the Eagle option...

Ok, well at least we agree on a couple points - lol. As for the rest of it, we're just going around in circles here (as I said before). I've already responded to these points you make so I'm not going to keep repeating myself. Nothing you have said has changed my position on this, and there's clearly nothing I can say to change yours either. I'd like for this to end amicably, so no hard feelings ok?

yeah. for me, it was when he was adressing the armies outside the black gates that his voice went most strange. its a shame, because i love the lines, but the way he says them ruin that moment for me every time. also a shame because i love viggo SOOOO much, and he spoils that for me at that moment. :( "adapt and overcome"

In times of war, when it comes to humans allied with elves and dwarves vs orcs with uruk-hai and other inhumane creatures, morality is nothing at all. I mean, if you had a cave troll as a prisoner-of-war, would you expect it to come to terms with you? Hell no. You've seen how orcs and uruk-hai treat their prisoners. They even eat their own and fight each other for christ's sake. You can't expect them to be any different to...

Perhaps Viggo can't shout very well. It's not fair to pick on his character's shining moment just for that.

Um....what? This movie has much deeper meaning than most films released these days. The value of friendship, destiny, good versus evil, standing up for what is right, self-sacrifice, and plenty more. In addition it is a great story with a lot of interesting characters and strong emotional content. The acting is top notch, the visuals are amazing, and the movie is so ritch and multi-...

So many times were posted on the three LOTR boards the same tedious question: why did the eagles not fly the ring-bearer to Mount Doom. Even though the answer is in the FAQ, and there are currently threads regarding the same subject, that does not stop trolls of asking this question again and again.
What is your reaction when you see such thread headline?

The extended version improves fellowship. It also slightly improves Towers, but overall the Towers extended drags. If you haven't seen ROTK yet, I'd watch the normal version first. Besides a couple good additions, there are moments that do make it drag. If you like the normal version, you should enjoy elements of the extended.
To sum up, go back and watch the extended version of Fellowship and...

ive been slightly confued about that in the past too.
it seems to me that the "doorway" and path are about half way down the mountain, with the lava level even lower, and yet lava spews out of the top way before it should if sam and frodo are to escape.
tbh, the whole idea of getting refuge from a massive volcanic eruption on one small bit of protruding rock is just silly. they should have ...

In the extended version, there is scene just before the Battle of the Black Gate starts: hideous creature, the Mouth of Sauron - powerful sorcerer and high-ranked officer at Sauron's army, comes out to "negotiate". He taunts the companions by claiming that the halfling (i.e. Frodo) is dead. Aragorn responds by beheading him.
Rest assure I did not shed any tears for the MoS. As Sauron's ...

I'm not a LotR hater by any stretch, but that's a very broad generalization.
The phrase as defined would mean that one would despise or undervalue ALL art/beauty/intellectual content/spiritual values. Disliking one example of art just means one dislikes that particular example. Calling LotR haters Philistines would, therefore, have to hate just about anything considered art, which surely ...
