Mary and Ann (Mary's mother was Nana who took care of Marilyn and Marilyn dated Nanas son Fred)They were her TRUE best friends and were actually invited by Dimaggio to her funeral and went. The older one died many years ago, and the younger died a few years ago of old age. R.I.P! They had to sleep over Marilyn's home two nights before she was killed, as Marilyn knew her days were number by the Kennedy’s. Her friends were...

There are at least two other women in that new video. The one directly to Marilyn's left has a very friendly, firm face. The one in the foreground, and who is below camera level for much of the time, has an almost pixie-ish type face. They're all gorgeous gals. They all seem very comfortable in each other's company. In fact, Marilyn puts her hand on the head of the young lady in the foreground when she sort of gets up a bit. One...

No one can ever play marilyn. It just can't go down well, every time it's been tried it's like sour milk.

I love them both and I read somewhere that Bankhead's performances in " Dark Victory" and " " The Little Foxes" on stage really colored how Davis' performances on screen for the film versions...and of course Margo Channing was apparently based on Bankhead " How 'bout some chocolate pain, bitch" Formerly qoa2

I know this isn't a fan board but I'm sure you realize that most who post here are fans. Clearly, MM is overrated to you but why waste time in a place where no one will agree wih you? Billy Wilder was a great director but if she was as horrible as you say, none of his direction would've really mattered.

I don't even mind people speculating about Marilyn's personal life, I just find it extremely pathetic that anyone believes a person's sexual behaviour is a valid assessment of their character. Sex symbols will always be the easiest targets, particularly to the ignorant and simplistic who believe images and stereotypes are the best means of judging public figures.

Encounter with Carol Lynley
Published (2009-12-03 00:19:00)
This happened in January 1962 when Marilyn's usual publicist Pat Newcomb was away on another assignment. Mr Selsman is quoted about this at length in the book Marilyn Monroe by Michelle Morgan. It's a rivetting read and one that includes a lot of previously unseen photos.

I actually saw her as platinum blonde in a movie set in the late 1940s. It didn't work on her and I'm not sure being heavier would help.

The best part of the video is that it is a rare early footage of Marilyn. That is cool!

I think Arthurs is probably your best best if you're looking for Marilyn reincarnated, OP. Luckily for you, he posts on this board.

Anything is possible, of course, but I doubt it.
(And having read what C. Collier said about her, I agree completely: she was born for the camera, not the stage).
Here's why.
The first and foremost thing you need in theatre (aside from talent, obviously) is VOICE. You must be able - literally - to even WHISPER in such a way that the hard-of-hearing guy in the 50th row can hear you loud...

Marilyn was heavily advised by people. She was surrounded by advisers. It's sometimes hard to tell which of her decisions were largely hers and which were at the insistence of her advisers.
In any case, yes, I think Marilyn did things that were considered "unorthodox" for her time.

Like you, I couldn't care less.
And I am no expert on pot smoking (I have done it a few - very few - times, years ago), but this much I know: that is no way to smoke a joint.
She exhaled FAR too quickly, and didn't really seem to inhale much; the cigarette was either rolled up improperly, or it was going out, which is why she appears to be inhaling with force at some point - probably ...

It's just nasty isn't it? There was a lot of bed hopping back then, Marilyn wasn't the only one to have had an affair and she had far less than some other actresses. This is why I avoid Oscar Buzz and other boards like it - because people just like to knock celebrities and it's just horrible.
Do you know there's a Facebook page called I Hate Marilyn Monroe? It's just sickening, I saw some of ...

I wouldn't have problem with Williams because I think she would really study MM and play her as a real person not a dumb blonde with a baby voice. That being said I'd rather Williams play MM in an actual biopic, not this made up tabloid garbage.

That is a cute house. I guess the only way to verify it would be through records from the merchant marine or financial records.
Wow boomer really is that fat and dumpy! She makes Indy scab look almost passable.
