71 $ seems very steep for those, then again I wouldn't bother to own any of them... If they're among your favorites, and they're all new, then sure.

Actually I got you right, and I believe you meant what you wrote. The correct way to write the sentence is: I like movies like Toy Story, Bugs Life, Spirited Away, etc. Some languages use commas differently (the only other language I know, Russian, certainly does), but in English the need for a comma is unchanged whether the last item is "etc." or another title, as in: I like movies like Toy Story, Bugs Life, Spirited Away,...

Here's three (from the 1990s but well worth a look):
Motorama (Vintage Mustang)
Josh and S.A.M.
Six-String Samurai (VERY old cars)
All are a bit off the wall but very rewarding.

As for TV shows,
Gerhard Reinke's Wanderlust ~ I stumbled across this gem a few years ago on Comedy Central, and really only met a handful of people who has seen it.

Peter Weir's early films (before he relocated to the U.S.) are worth checking out...his film Picnic at Hanging Rock has received a lot of acclaim
also, I know she isn't australian (but from New Zealand), but several of Jane Campion's films have received critical acclaim...

Trusting that you'll edit your post to eliminate the extraneous apostrophe in its Subject line (I'm a former English teacher), I'll offer these suggestions:
The Little Shop of Horrors (1960)
Play It Again, Sam (1972)
The Gods Must Be Crazy (1980)
Popeye (1980)
The Stunt Man (1980)
Time Bandits (1981)
The Return of Captain Invincible (1983)
Strange Brew (...

I'l try coming up with a list later but my all time fav has to be the chest busting scene from Alien
Incidently, Michael Palin being repressed is fantasic, my preferance would be instructions on how to use the holy hand grenade..."And the lord did grin..."
Come and play with us Danny. Forever and ever and ever

Comedies - that are still very funny today:
Bringing Up Baby
His Girl Friday
My Favorite Wife
Horror that still scares me:
Night of the Living Dead
Dramas:
Citizen Kane (it's so well known that it seems like it would be a drag to watch, but it's good)
Grapes of Wrath
