Only in that the
Treaty of Versailles wasn't harsh enough. Germany brought it on itself, which, by the way, wasn't a purely French document anyway. The Entente powers all agreed on it.

I'd say probably
Morocco or Egypt. South Africa too if you manage to avoid the ridiculous amount of crime.

Octavian/Augustus (63 BCE-14 CE)
That bastard destroyed what could have been a great Dynasty (the same with Cassander who killed the son of
Alexander the Great).

William Pitt the Younger.
In December 1998 he introduced the income tax to pay for the war against Napoleon. Although
the Napoleonic wars have been over for 194 years, we are still paying for it.

Everybody Wants To Rule The World.
I agree. Its the basic form of human nature in this world. Like it or not.
Your thread is antagonistic but IMO, true.

Yes, that makes sense because usually folks compare decades to one another while they try to reflect upon good events from the past and worry about all of these bad things happening today.
Back during their good decades, they were probably doing the same thing,
reliving the past, and complaining about the negatives going on and on.
and probably still going on.
