I liked it, most of it anyway

Pretty fun film. Extremely brave to take on Christianity in such a bold way! Wow. It gets major bonus points from me for doing that. It also takes on the shallowness we have in society too which I liked. As for the film itself though, I thought the first half was great. I got lots of laughs in the start, and then in the middle the story really started getting very interesting and that was the best bit for me. However, I thought it was then...

When I was studying philosophy, the professor who taught us existentialism loved Breathless. It certainly is considered a profound film by many clever people. It might be possible to convince me that TIOL wasn't one of the most profound films ever made. However to do that someone would have to make a serious suggestion of a film that was far and away more profound than it is, and so far nobody has come up with one. I have seen a lot of...

It's amazing how people like to bash religion and talk down to religious people all the while doing exactly what they're accusing religious people of doing.

Seriously I don't think Garner is the MOST beautiful woman out there, but I do think she IS beautiful and I think MOST people would agree with me. Rat faced? We all have our opinions but your idea of beauty must be extremely strict.

You're correct. In fact, Mark (Ricky Gervais) is the only character who even vaguely represents a normal person. Perhaps they are very plain or happy as a knock-on effect of not being able to tell the truth. It's hard to say since we don't live like that, but interesting to see.

Would you rather the pizza boxes be from a company called Pizza Nut? Would you have a problem with it then?
I never did get why some have problems with products placements...who the *beep* cares???

I think it has a lot of similarity to Jim Carrey's Liar Liar , in which he cannot lie for a whole day, when lying is necessary to be socially fluid or survive economically. This reverses the concept and makes the hero lie to get by.

Actually the universe makes a great deal of sense. Therex92;s no reason why human beings should necessarily have evolved the ability to lie. Life evolved the ability to communicate to share information that improved the odds of survival of the species. There is no reason why any species should necessarily have evolved the ability to deliberately give out false information.

The movie never says that Jesus didn't exist. He did exist, that's a proven fact. However, there's no evidence of 'the man in the sky' or that Jesus was anything more than a man, which is the idea this movie goes along with.

Well first, the "half" of the movie you disliked was only about the last 15 minutes. Second, yes the movie beat us over the head that he was clearly taking potshots at Christianity. Third, the "Jesus" scene was just a simple, brief gag, and I thought it was hilarious.

Oh my. Did you miss the huge painted mural of Mark in the church? I think we can safely assume that the church didn't exist until after Mark lied. wear a crucifix around his neck He can lie about anything. He could have easily lied about the guy in the sky having a son that forgives all the people for the bad things they do to make them less intimidated of what their fate would be when they ...

As you are a doctor, i am dissapointed by this response. You say we cant say who created God - yes we can. Millions do! There is an answer, we are just not all privy to it.
PLus your arguments are not actually scriptural.

7. Joining a gym, getting fit and losing 20 pounds is not an option even if you're rich, highly motivated to do so, and afford to slack around all day long.

good example that just occured... jennifer gardner's mom calls her on the phone and apparently asks if she will be sleeping w/ Gervais tonight, but instead of just saying, "no, I won't be" she has to add in the extra, "no, I won't be sleeping with him tonight."
Its just really annoying.
