Where those songs not part of the original stage musical? No, written for the movie : for ONJ by John Farrar , and for Frankie Valli by Barry Gibb My body's clearing forty as my mind is nearing ten!

SUCH an improvement! The second trailer was a disconnected play on Kate Hudson's fame, and the first, while excellent, was sonly a teaser. This was just very well done.

CI was just nominated for a Golden Satellite award for best original song. I haven't heard the other songs so I can't make a judgment as to which I think will win, but I really love CI.

I WANT TO SEE THIS NOW!!!!! Wish I could fly to London for the premiere. I know that's a bit excessive but work is slow right now. If you don't know what they're saying, turn on the subtitles.

Fellini's 8 1/2?

Interesting about Fellini not wanting them to call the show 'Nine' - of course, you cannot doubt Shannon on this board! I did hear that Fellini wanted nothing to do with Sweet Charity , an adaptation of his Nights in Cabiria . http://markparadiso.blogspot.com/

Nine was a 1982 stage musical adaptation of 8 1/2. Its called Nine because Fellini didn't want the title of 8 1/2 used..so the composer Maury Yeston came up with the title Nine because with music, it adds another half...also Guido was nine when he met the prostitute and was subsequently sent to a catholic school , and so therefore as an adult is stuck emotionally as a nine year old. Fellini ...

Just watched it.
Love how they tell you the whole cast. I hated how they never did that before and it didn't get recognition to all the great stars

I agree with most of those, my favorites are
- Sweeney Todd
-Dreamgirls
-Chicago
-Hairspray
-Moulin Rouge
But I have a feeling Nine is going to trump a few of these :)

i still love it. she does sound like geri, but geri has never sounded THAT good and she could never reach those notes in the end of the song either.

The one near the bottom with Marion Cotillard in the chair is gorgeous and intriguing. It also reminds me of the scene at the party in " Schindler's List" with Liam Neeson and Embeth Davidtz.

Lovely, thanks.
Its almost surreal reading that off an IMDb post, so accustomed are we to speculation, dogma, "opinions" , "predictions", bad taste and bad manners.
That we are finally reading thoughtful, informed stuff from real writers is really great.
I'm sure Minghella added a lot to the piece but to be fair to Tolkin, it would be very interesting to know what and how much.

At this time, I'm guessing a bunch of nominations but not any wins outside the technical categories at the Oscars. I'm thinking main wins will go for Up in the Air and Precious. Golden Globes might go over better. Maybe The Hurt Locker.
Although, since in the recent past winners have been the likes of The Departed, Crash, No Country for Old Men, maybe a musical would be a welcomed change of ...

All of the musical numbers are in his mind, the fact that Unusual Way looks like it's shot on a sound stage is the point.

Oh my, liliss. You better stay away from this film. It is about 3 frames away from an X rating! I may have to wait till Blockbuster censors it to watch! Keep your family safe and go see THE FROG PRINCESS!
