I don't know how anyone can hate that film. That is as horrifying, action-packed, gritty, well-acted, emotional(even for men) and well-done as War dramas get. Sure, it doesn't show as much of the D-Day Invasion as necessary and it doesn't have any politics unless some ignorant, bored person examines it the wrong way & thinks it's propaganda. Plus, while some films like The Thin Red Line, Platoon, Gettysburg, We Were...

Its a good movie, especially the two main battle sequences, but its hampered by cliches and Speilberg's fatherhood issues. http://www.last.fm/user/399796kms/

I like the film, and it is on my list of best war films, but it still has many flaws. TDV

It's a very good film but it has some technical and historical flaws in it though but besides that a magnificent film. It's my favourite movie.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103966/ Chunuk Bair(1992) seen it on vid a few years back. Is their equivalent of the Australian "Gallipoli" . Very low budge, actually might be made on a stage. In style of production, reminded me of that play Hal Holbrook was in about the USS Pablo. Moves me to ask, has anyone seen the Canadian WW1 movie with Paul Gross yet? Ive seen trailers of it on ...

This is a little known movie directed by Roger Corman in 1971, but it's out there on a very nice DVD right now. I just rented it from netflix. Now people who are sticklers for absolute historical accuracy will probably find problems with it, but they would find problems with just about any war movie. It's actually a very interesting movie, one of Corman's best. It's really about the death of ...

I love watching quality war films in theatres and have done so since Saving Private Ryan so I was wondering what war films with tons of potential will be releasing in the future but mention films set to release 2008-2009! I am aware of Valkyrie, Defiance, The Hurt Locker, Australia and Inglorious Bastards so mention titles other than these. David Twohy for AvP3 : http://www.petitiononline....

Uniforms, ranks, insignia, medals and flags are an apparently secondary but potentially interesting and relevant factor in many war films, especially when comparing different periods...
