Has anyone seen this? it's a German film I caught the other night on cinemax and wow, it is a strong movie but wow, it is close to a masterpiece (I'd have to see it again to really know)

François Ozon?

I think Ozon is very fine film maker. My favourite Ozon film is "Sous le Sable" ( Under The Sand - 2000), again with the brilliant Charlotte Rampling in the lead role. His films generally focus on relationships and the human condition, and as such he relies on the quality of his actors to sell his style.

I have been searching for this movie for a while now and would appreciate any help. I tried "I need to know" board, but no luck there. I hope here someone remembers this movie. What i remember about the movie is that some tribesman from Africa comes to europe (i beleive Austria/Germany) and looks at their customs through the eyes of tribesman. So for instance, drinking beer in a tent is ...

What do you think of this director? I've seen two of his movies now, " Swimming Pool" and "Criminal Lovers" and i don't know what to think of them. The latter i saw only for Natacha Régnier because i loved her performance in "The Dreamlfe of Angels". Criminal Lovers was odd though, the plot reminded me of that from a horror movie, only the film never really went into that territory. A ...

Seriously please, recommend me some good, or moderately good, Greek movies. I may want to order some titles to help with my language studies. The Apple Scruffs Corps, 05 In 1936 when Donald Duck was still pretty cool.

The North wind doth blow and we shall have snow ... and what does poor Robin do then poor thing ...? Yeah, 'he curls up with a stock of DVDs and the internet'. Saw that one coming, didn't you? It's improbable, but it makes a good intro. This is the place to report on any European (quasi-European, virtually-European etc.) films you saw last week: if you can find the time to write a bit ...

I've been dying to see this movie, and I can't find it anywhere in stores. "Insanity is the only sane reaction to an insane society."

As this is a board with not very much traffic, I suggest a procedure different from the FG quizzes: - European films only, - one pic at a time, - questions may be asked, - more pics of the same film may be posted or not, - the person who gets it right posts the next one. Let's see if this works. Ready? Okay, I'll start: http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/1939/015bm8.jpg ...

It took place in a slummy decaying building and all of the characters spoke in an entirely non-existent feral language of growls and grunts. I remember reading it was hailed as a prime example of anarchist cinema. It was feature length and in color and I'm almost positive it was French. I doubt it was ever given a legitimate release in the states because I had to buy it through a bootleg site ...
