Time for Macbeth
Published (2009-11-27 04:58:00)
Well there doesn't have to be a lot of chemistry. The idea was that Macbeth and his wife didn't really love each other in a modern-day sense but worked together out of ambition. Or at least Lady Macbeth was driven by ambition. It doesn't have to be Emma Thompson, it could be someone else, but it would have been nice to see that again. And Sean Bean as Macbeth? I always saw him as MacDuff. And Branagh is good at preparing a...

Kenneth Branagh would have made an amazing Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. I thought Ewan McGregor did a great job, but just watching Mr. Branagh in action made me wonder what it would have been like to see him as a Jedi warrior. Definitely would've been cool!

I don't think he wants to convince the people that gives him the money to make his films that the film that they are financing will be succesful because I read in an interview of his for a Spain's magazine that took place in Barcelona that he said that he wanted to do what he wanted to do even if what he was doing wasn't going to be a huge success he said that he did The Magic Flute because they asked him to direct it so I...

Interesting Quote
Published (2009-12-01 18:04:00)
First off, I'm a huge fan of KB. I have seen most of his work, and though some of it not commercially successful, I still feel that Mr. Branagh is one of the most talented actors around. I found this quote on Wikipedia when I did a search on the actor: Critic Milton Shulman of the London Evening Standard wrote: "On the positive side Branagh has the vitality of Olivier, the passion of Gielgud, the assurance of Guinness, to mention...

Macbeth is one of the most amazing Shakespeare's plays. Kenneth would be just perfect for the main character. Jeremy Irons could get one role, too. However, I would also like seeing him in a comedy. What about The Taming of the Shrew? I can easily imagine Kenneth as Petruccio.

I sure would. He's damn sexy. I'm not sure why, but I've always had a crush on him (personally, I think he made Hamlet uber sexy). If he came knocking on my door, I wouldn't waste any time. *giggle* I'm not sure why I'm spilling my guts on the internet...its very addictive. xx

"Even before FrankenTurkey, he made Dead Again(which was nominated for oscars) and by that stage his marriage to Emma Thompson was all but over, The Uk media crucified him over Frankenturkey" Not so...Dead Again was released in 1991,and they were still very much married at the time the film was made. Emma filmed Howard's End in 1992, and Branagh met Helena Bonham Carter on that set, and ...
