I would say by design and the execution of the various elements it's great, maybe from a technical level it doesn't have the fine detail (resolution) that Pixar uses, but who cares. that's like complaining a top notch independent film with great lighting and set designers suffers because it doesn't have Tom Cruise, the full budget or the fancy cameras of a James Cameron movie. does it really? quite subjective, and likely...

There's no bloody meaning in this film you dimbwitt! The only meaning is that the creators had to hurry patching something together before deadline, and make a few bucks.

I must say this was a breath of fresh air. It had a bit more depth than the average animation. People say the story wasn't very original, OK, but I want to see examples, what animation is so original it hasn't been done before ?

To me it was the ending which the whole plot implied. I just think the supposedly smart #9 missed the point more than I did. Maybe he didn't want to die like the others? * If a song could get me you * JFoxy

You are confusing faith and religion. Religion is an institution created by power politics and used to organize and motivate groups for some purpose that they normally would not unite for. Atheism is a form of religion. If you look solely to reason, you are effectively surrendering to faith as well. Faith that our intellect can find answers in the darkness. Personally, I think that the belief our often wrong and infinitesimally small...

Why I didn't like the movie.
Published (2009-12-12 01:45:00)
The machines shut down because they completed their goal. It's not like they could go bowling or reproduce. They came on again because their main objective had resurfaced. I haven't seen the movie yet, I was reading this to see if I wanted to watch it, but that would be my explanation for their existence without seeing the movie. You could find something wrong with anything or explain anything in regards to Sc-Fi, just look at Star...

Well .. I thought it may have been relevant. Perhaps if I had said that the movie was the 'worst I have ever seen in my life', it would have made a bigger impact. It seems like poeple constantly moan about shallow films but aren't interested when depth is there to be explored.

"In the end it's a movie that doesn't really suit anyone" Thats very true and something many critics spoke about. it cant make up it's mind what it wanted to be.
As for the ending.. it would have been terrible of they sacrificed themselves.. the machine was already programed to kill, If they had read the message first and learn how to use the talisman correctly then that would have been the ...

IF you study Numerology, 9 represents change and the highest level.
While I've not seen those other films it does work with this film.

Rain brings life, so the dolls don't need to have sex. lol
It was the talisman that captured the souls, they needed to destroy the machine to get it back and releases the dolls..
The problem is by the time we find out what the talisman does several dolls have already been captured.. and there was no other way to un do, If 9 had read the message first they could have used the talisman in the...

It's obviously not comparable to Pixar in terms of visuals but Christ, it was made on a fraction of a Pixar film's budget.
Really? Worst film you ever saw? Well, my next one will be better. Hello? Hello?

I just saw this movie, and I had some questions:
1. Why would the robot need to collect souls?
2. Why was the robot deactivated?
3. Why was the cat bot the only active robot?
4. Why were only 4 souls needed to restart life?
5. Given that all plant and animal life was destroyed, what was burning to run the factory and how did it get there?
6. Why was there only one corpse? Does this imply ...

I think the movie was fun to watch.
It's not one of those highly philosophical movies which you watch and then think about it for days to come. It does have an idea, possibly a message, a plot and, naturally, plot holes. You'll find them in any movie if you look hard enough. If you liked the rest of it, you'll find ways to cover them up. If you didn't like the movie - well, you might just go and...
