I just watched the last of the Matrix triology the other day and noticed that a design very similar to the power loader was used in that film.

What bothers some people occurs during the first moment of the film before the first line is even uttered. I suspect that only made it bother a certain segment of the audience even more. You can usually get away with slipping a lot of stuff that doesn't really make sense into a movie, and people will usually overlook it because they get caught up in the drama/action/whatever of the story. They might realize the plot hole when...

This Board is Retarded!

Maybe I don't care about credibility on something as lame as this message board since I rather focus on my real life actions. Or maybe you think I should sit and cry because you guys deemed me "juvenile". Maybe you guys should check yourself for your constant need to correct me or tell me of the errors of my ways when you damn well know I don't care. People like you are an enigma. Instead of living by your words and...

I was thinking about that too, but it's possible that certain kinds of species are common knowledge to humans, and wouldn't be refered to as aliens. It's a stretch, but no one seemed all that surprised at that big, dead, alien dude in the first movie. It's also possible that Vasquez was just being sarcastic, wondering what Ripley was doing there just because she saw an alien(which they would all be used too such species)....

It Has Aged Well
Published (2009-11-24 05:20:00)
I don't think there's ever been a better "props and sets" film that wasn't a period epic from our past. As far as fantasy/sci-fi goes, Aliens is probably only topped by the Original Star Wars Trilogy in terms of the amount of stuff we see. And the Pulse Rifles own anything we've ever seen, that's for sure. At least they masked the original weapon very well - Star Wars just used WW2 weapons and barely...

Yeah Knight-Rider...
I'm such a huge fan of this movie, I'll probably camp out at Blockbuster whenever this movie FINALLY comes out on BluRay.
Aliens in HD? And 5.1? CAN'T WAIT!

Well, i think the plan was to go there to impregnate someone and leave. Those "marines" could be just some local expendable dropouts with minimum training. The Company might already knew that place was overrun by aliens, so they sent a team on a suicide mission, just to bring back some baby aliens.

You know, I always wondered the same thing, because the aliens have those razor sharp teeth, but you NEVER use their actual mouth and take a bite down on anyone. Every time it actually shows an alien kill someone they always use their tongue.

No you're wrong and I'll tell you why. Your questions are relative to literally every single sci-fi board from Star Trek to V, the technology boat floats on literally all the threads. Artificial gravity, stasis, artificial persons blah blah blah, done to death and BORING! It makes sense that people are going to want to discuss topics exclusive to Aliens ON THE ALIENS BOARD!

The simple fact is that the Alien Queen did somehow get aboard the dropship so as to set up the penultimate confrontation in the hangar.
Was there another confrontation after the one in the hangar???

well that is what we call a "plot device" obviously, but its not that far fetched really. The colonists hadn't been there that whole 57 years, just 20 or so, so it could have really been the first time they made it far enough to find the derelict.
I'm not sure that its very clear how long after Ripley is found that they actually lose contact with the colony, because i know Ripley has been ...
