It's probably been discussed already but this is my take on the issue. I personnaly preferred Tim Burton's "Batman". And especially his "over-the top" Joker, as played by Jack Nicholson. I saw "The Dark Knight", and I would rate it 3 out of four stars. Ledger was good. In fact all three live action "Jokers" retained elements of the various portrayals of the comic-book villain. But ...

UPDATED Wed Jul 23 2008 09:57:43 There's already a million threads about which villians people DO want to see, but for my money I'm more interested in using villians/ characters who work with a coherent story. I have no objection to Black Mask or Riddler, for example, but I only want them in if Nolan has a plan for them. So far he's been pretty good about only using the villians...

Her face looked nothing less then a pumpkin. It looked bloated, and her cheek lines were so strong....and those drooping eyes didnt help either. I think Katie Holmes was way better looking. Man this party is like an orgy at a campsite......its ***king in tents.

That's true, I liked that Batman couldn't save the girl despite all his big talk against Joker.

So for those who have seen it, what was the BEST part of the Joker that you liked? The part that made you go "Holy Sh**, he really is good!!" Which is the most funniest or the most serious?

UPDATED Fri Jul 18 2008 08:30:46 It seems IMDb forums have a maximum of 350 pages and older topics disappear. I'm posting this one again now that we can bump having watched the movie. Peter Finch in Network was the first and only actor to be nominated to an Oscar after dying, and he won it. There's a huge campaign to nominate Heath Ledger as Best Supporting Actor. BUMP to ...

Who was in a cinema that did it? I've seen it twice, the first time it was an advanced staff screening and I was the only one. But the second time, When Batman speeds away from the cops on the Batpod and Gordon says ..."he's The Dark Knight" and then it cuts to black with the title screen my cinema errupted. It was epic.

The scores on IMDB are just that... tallied and that is the result even with all the 1s and 10s. The only credibility that is in doubt is the topic creator's credibility.

I know he's the "joker" and he's weird, creepy, offbeat and he did and said stuff that was kind of funny, but I got really annoyed at people constantly laughing at him. He's creepy, and weird STOP LAUGHING! I might just be a jerk, but it annoyed me. Agree?

IF they decide to attempt to carry on the character of the joker the only actor capable of pulling off the character would be the great Daneil Day Lewis. He can do over the top, tortured, psychotic, and he is built a little lanky so his version (it would be his version and NOT an imitation) would be similar. and astounding

While I don't like Christian Bale as Batman (love him as Bruce Wayne), even his performance wasn;t enough to ruin this movie for me.

It'll go down after people who weren't anxiously awaiting this film for months have gone to the theater and seen it. ------ Mrs. Tarantino: Are you the police? Elwood: No, ma'am. We're musicians.

THis is obviously towards the ladies ofcourse, if they're here i can't tell. But i don't know he had this sex-appeal to him that i couldn't help but WANT him, no wonder Harley fell in love with the man. Marvin: I've been talking to the ship's computer. Arthur: And? Marvin: It hates me.

UPDATED Mon Jul 21 2008 02:29:00 Assuming there WILL NOT be a villain whose been given screen time already in a previous Batman movie (Joker, Two-Face, Catwoman, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Bane, Ra's Al Ghul/Henri Ducard, Scarecrow, and yes, despite all the "clues", The Riddler...) who would you want to see as the next villain? EXCLUDING plainclothes criminals (...
