I'm so glad you didn't put Interview with the Vampire into that list, he was sooooo bad. Anyway, I guess... I'd say.. Ocean's series, because he fits the role.. and Fight Club possibly, though Edward Norton totally outshines him... and Inglorious Basterds :D okay, maybe Jesse James too :P it's more of a list of movies I like which he played in and didn't ruin :D I really should get around to seeing Se7en some day...

Brad Pitt lets this film down
Published (2009-11-23 12:45:00)
You're right, the characters were nothing alike. Pitt's portrayal of them was what I was referring to as being similiar. My point is that Brad Pitt has one way of presenting both characters... he acts like a guy trying to act crazy. I liked him doing that as Tyler, and I enjoyed him in 12 monkeys, and in Legends of the Fall, but in my (sobber) opinion, it didn't work here. His character is supposed to be this wounded, tired,...

Watching this again, two weeks...

For some reason, I'm drawn to watch this again, almost immediately after viewing it for the 2nd time (1st time was about 6 months ago). Just finished the book, perhaps that's giving me reason enough. Anybody else compelled to watch this again so quickly?? "...honesty, compassion, and fair play." --Sensei Terry Silver KKid III

Brad Pitt lets this film down
Published (2009-11-24 09:31:00)
You must have seen a completely different film because that's not how Pitt played the character at all. He was quiet and contemplative in a menacing way for much of the film...and only resorted to his Jesse James famous outlaw persona when the situation called for it. Jesse was a violent, uncaring man with those outside his family--some even call him a pyschopath--and Pitt played that perfectly, nothing like Tyler Durden. Television is a...

I know what you mean. I'm so tired of people dictating how other people should feel about a film. It is ridiculous to judge someone as "stupid" or any other euphemism for having low intelligence just because they don't share YOUR taste. This happens on pretty much every board, too. Well, that and crap like "New Moon" anyway. I believe Brad Pitt and crew had a falling out with Warner Brothers. Usually, something with Pitt's name gets a hell of a lot of attention. This movie didn't add up. It's easily his best yet.

Welcome to our little "fanclub" :P This has been my favorite movie since I first saw it 2 years ago, and I promise, it actually gets better with each new viewing!
And interesting family history you got there. You should share this movie with the rest of your family.. and friends and pretty much everyone you know, so one day with enough people demanding it the 4-hour version would be released...

I really did like this film, and although I know that such trivialities donxB4;t make or break a movie, I especially enjoyed the filmmakers attention to detail, historical or not. As a historian and a museum curator, these little details warmed my heart, and IxB4;d like to take the time to list a few of them, as a way of saying xB4;xB4;thank youxB4;xB4; to the production designers, costume ...

I think Sam Rockwell is overlooked because he is niether butt-ugly or movie-star handsome. He has to rely totally upon his talent as an actor. And without exception, he has excelled. He's in that limbo between " character actor" and "leading man".

Should be #1! Then again I haven't actually seen the #1 and #2 movies on that list, so I guess I shouldn't say that..
I've seen Sunshine and Marie Antoinette from that list and both were quite good too, tho Jesse James is way better :D

Yes, it was Dominik's project back in 2003 before he did Jesse James. Pop 1280 was another project of his he wishes to hop aboard with Woody Harrelson, but he's a busy man.

Yes I am listening to some of the unreleased tracks now. All the Beautiful Things is an ethereal sounding track.
How this OST did not get nominated at the OSCARS shows how much of a sham the academy awards are. Seriously, Ratatatouille, 3:10 to Yuma, Michael Clayton!!! wtf are they thinking?
