Everything about it is just genius. Tom Hanks proves to us yet again that he is an astounding actor. I also LOVED William's score. Everything about it is so catchy, zany, and manages to capture the mood of the movie. I don't see what some of you guys have against this
movie. One of my favorite movies. ...eminentley practical and yet appropriate as always... OFFICIAL ...

Why is
Viktor the only Krakozhian in the whole airport? Where did all his fellow passengers go? Surely, they must've all had the same problem as Viktor? -Mark (not David)

I want to get this straight. Millions of iranians are displaced due to a
regime change that ruined millions of lives and killed thousands. People emigrate from their in hords for safety leaving their lives behind, and this poor guy gets stuck in an airport until he goes senile. Then speilberg comes along and turns the tragedy into a comedy...oh oh its ok, he changed the country....

I didn't realize this movie didn't do well in theaters. According to The Numbers (http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/2004/TRMNL.php) , the US gross for this movie was only two million dollars more than its production budget? Wow.
I'm amazed. This was a really great movie.

It probably wouldn't have worked....was she willing to give up her life and go back to his country? I think not, she seemed immature and self-absorbed for that. And I don't see Viktor staying in America, hanging around airports just to be with her. But, hey, I could be wrong.

Now I've only seen this movie once, so I may have missed a tiny bit or I might be a bit hazy on the details, but didn't the supervisor blackmail
Hanks into going home, by threatening to fire Enrique and deport the Indian dude? So, we know what happens with the Indian guy, in some dramatic event he decides to stop a plane with a mop and basically faces his problems like a man, but what about ...

How was Victor able to communicate to a Russian speaker (the guy with the pills) with the Bulgarian language? Aren't they two
different languages?

Really this has to be one of the worst performances of an American playing a European immigrant I've ever seen. Not only was Hanks' accent terrible, but the foreign character was being played as retarded and buffoonish. It's one of those common
misconceptions that Americans make thinking that those who can't speak English are completely stupid. I would think Spielberg would know better....
