I think Clint kind of made a joke of himself in True Crime - I mean he was in his late 60s, walking around shirtless and making out with a 23-year old......not my type of Clint.

But these films aren't duds right? Clint's unprecedented run still stands correct?

Agreed - Absolute Power is a terriffic and intelligent thriller. I would classify True Crime and Blood Work as "decent."

6 Degrees of Clint Eastwood
Published (2009-12-25 20:02:00)
I suggest you choose your actor/actress carefully next time, and also, when playing 'six degrees', it's advised to avoid including roles where actors play themself, such as Eastwood's role in Casper. Bernadette Peters - Pink Cadillac - Clint Eastwood Next: Malik Daniels

"I think Clint kind of made a joke of himself in True Crime" Yes. Obviously. That was THE POINT. The character was far too old to be acting the way he was. The lesson he had to learn through the course of the film. ...again, sort of the WHOLE POINT OF THE CHARACTER'S ARC.

Bored by his direction

Nothing wrong with it, I'm just saying his dramatic stuff feels too straightforward and derivative. And I get what you're saying about how nobody wants to be remembered for just a couple of roles or films, but Spielberg and Eastwood have already proved themselves to be remarkable and, I think, risk wearing out their ingenuity just to keep themselves busy. But then I'm not toward the latter part of my life so I guess I understand...

It's like he's vying for artistic credibility with the projects he's taken on and so he won't be remembered merely for his roles as The Man With No Name and Dirty Harry, or his earlier, less serious directorial career. Is there anything wrong with that? If you were somebody as talented as Clint Eastwood, would you want to be remembered only for playing The Man With No Name? Let's put this in a different perspective:...

Question On Sondra Locke
Published (2009-12-21 12:30:00)
Does anyone know how long Clint and Sondra were a couple? Does anyone know why they broke up? Did they have kids together? I find it surprising that Clint never married Sondra, or maybe it was because he was still married to someone else at the time.

BEST MOVIE

Gran Torino (2008), Flags of Our Fathers (2006) & Letters from Iwo Jima (2006), Bird (1988), Changeling (2008) & The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) are all up there but for me Million Dollar Baby is still the one where Eastwood's talents coalesced to their most powerful effect. The others are close though. Mai Yamane! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD83P-vn5JI&feature=related

Who's as tough as Clint?

In today's terms? Gary Sinise i think... "Honey, if we can't kill people what's the point of being a vampire?"

He's never played a scenery chewing evil villain, unfortunately. I think the closest he's come to a villain is the Beguiled (which is also one of his best performances), but even that's sort of a gray area.

"The Rookie" came out in December 1990. That's exactly 19 years ago....sooo thats within the last 20 years.
And the movie was no dud. It's an excellent action film.
In my opinion, " A Perfect World" was a total dud. Same with "True Crime."
I haven't seen any of the films he directed but did not star in, so I can't comment.

I don't view Tommy Lee Jones as a bad-ass at all.
Anyways, I know he did mostly dramatic roles, but I think Charlton Heston is one of the coolest/baddest people ever on film.

Hey, I'm a 19-year-old Democrat and I agree with Clint wholeheartedly! I'm not saying Clint's generation and earlier were automatically better, but what I think he's getting at is my generation doesn't want to fix the screwed-up world that we live in. Whose fault it is doesn't matter as much as the fact that we can't find a way to fix it.

Million Dollar Baby, by a longshot. One of the best movies of all time. There's simply no comparison.

His last action movie was "Blood Work" in 2002.
"Gran Torino" wasn't an action movie but it had machine guns.
Even though he is old as dirt, Clint is nowhere near the end of his life. His mom lived to be 96 (she died in 2006) so Clint will probably live another 15-20 years.

They were a couple for 14 years and lived together for 13 of those years.
Clint became very disinterested in Sondra toward the end of their relationship and left her for Frances Fisher.
They had no kids, although she did have two abortions and got her tubes tied (all at his request).
Both of them were married to different people when they started going out. Clint eventually divorced his ...

Eastwood's already been awarded so many times in recent years, and 'Invictus' doesn't have the anticipation or buzz like 'Avatar' - it's almost unfair to compare the two since they are so different.
So, no, Eastwood's not gonna win, but it's yet another honor to be nominated.
