I just watched Breach on DVD last night. I was totally distracted the whole film by the large lump on
Ryan Phillipe's forehead. I have never noticed it before in any other film he has starred in. I have tried various searches on the Web and haven't had any success in finding out what it is and/or what caused it. Can someone here help me with that answer?

Don't know if it was a conscience error on the his part but when he enters the church with Cooper's character for mass. He crosses himself wrong. Cooper right behind him does it correctly. Odd that his character being
Jesuit taught would not be able to perform that move.

At some points he's great, others a train wreck. Some of his important scenes just have weakness. I thought it was a good movie but, it's also pretty uneventful and lacking complexity. It's more of a movie of the week, or
made for TV movie type of script. I'm surprised this much money was invested to bring it to the big screen. An undercover agent would never leave a porno of his ...

Was it just me, or was there a blatant reference to
Office Space in this movie?

I thought the lift scene towards the end of the film. where the doors open and hes standing there in the black outfit opposite Eric was a brilliant piece of cinema and what he said. '
pray for me' i thought just added to it. Chandler: Ding Dong, the psycho's gone

Chris Cooper is a good actor, but am I the only one getting a bit tired of the same old stereotype? In American Beauty, he's the ultimate in American
ugliness. He hates his son, controls his wife, loves guns, is in denial about his own homosexuality, and oh yeah..... did I mention he's ex-military? In Breach, he plays practically the same character. This time he hates everyone, ...

It's not necessarily that far off. Hanssen was looked upon as 'diabolically smart', but also grossly reckless. He had several very close shaves, e.g. he was caught with a password breaker programme on his computer, he approached a
Russian intelligence officer in the Embassy car park in broad daylight and used his codename, he assaulted a female colleague, the list goes on. He only wasn'...

Does anyone else think that some more action would have made it a better film? I felt like something was missing.

Whining and moaning about his job, which frankly, was not THAT demanding (try dating someone in the military). And then lying and sending him out to the car so she can snoop through his stuff-- why? Did she have reason to think he was cheating on her? No. She just didn't like his boss. You don't snoop through someone's belongings like that. Total violation of privacy. And then she ...

OK, so he was selling secrets to the Soviets, but
the Soviet Union collapsed in the early '90s. I thought Russia was now our ally. So was he selling secrets to the Russians, like "friendly spying" that I guess goes on between us and England, Israel, etc.?
