Right. That was MTV where that content is constantly present in their programming. ABC is a cable network that has been around for a long time and also is owned by the Walt Disney Company. I get the ABC v. MTV argument in theory, I really do But in reality ? Those VERY SAME AMAs that Adam performed at were racy and not appropriate for kids waaay before Adam ever hit the stage! It was provocative in its time but nowadays, it doesn't seem too bad!
I guess one could say that because that turned out to be the case for her, it could be the same for Adam. Or that people will spazz out about it and then sooner or later, it will be long forgotten.

I woke up singing that song the other morning which is wierd for me because it's probably in the bottom 3 of songs from FYE. Not that I don't enjoy it but imo there are a lot of better songs on the record. GET THE ALBUM, it's the most fun I've had listening to one in years. I don't know how many times I thought, "Goddamn can this dude sang !"

It had to have been pretty shocking for a lot of people.
The whole performance just had no class. I think that's why it causes so many mixed feelings because there's nothing you can really say to moralize it somehow. You can say that it was entertaining but you can't say that it was appropriate.
