a bad shrooms trip?

I've never done shrooms but a couple of friends of mine have and they say it reminds them of their trip. But the narration in the story all seems like he's on a bad high so I can see how the movie would seem like a trip haha :]

By typical Hollywood films involve random things jumping out at you or gross out special effects...how did this fit that? There are very few horror films like this now of days. You're going to die. Oh no!

I agree. I thought this was non scary, non entertaining. Mostly because it just felt like another hollywood horror film. Nothing special about it. Only my opinion

You can't leave Room 1408. Thats why the Director's Cut ending is my preferred one. Sure we want him to get out of the room, but the rule is that he can't. That rule, no matter how much we (the viewers) want it to be broken, should not be broken - or the whole 'character' of the room is lost. Thats why the "fake escape" scene fits in really well in the film. It tricks us by giving us the happy ending...

this movie is pretty random and out there. and most of the time it doesn't make any sense. but in a way, thats what makes it creepy. the fact that through half the movie you're literally like wtf and have no idea whats going on. its pretty bizarre but i love it!

just found something cool while watching the film. As mikes walking to the room right after he bumps in the chair and the elevator opens he looks down at the files of victims in 1408 and it says "my brother was eaten by wolves......" In the book it mentions his brother a lot and near the end in the story he mentions how is brother was eaten by wolves. interesting connection i thought...

I know the end supposedly told us that it wasn't a dream or hallucination or whatever, but then again, it seems like an open question. I'm not a horror movie fan but I do enjoy thrillers, so, my question: Should I not watch this if I scare easily by horror movies? All I want to hear is if it's more of a thriller. The book I guess is an entirely different matter. So what about the movie then? Thanks everyone

When Mike was blasted with water, while he was trying to contact his wife over his laptop, he closed the computer screen completely, as water was getting into its keyboard. However, after sometime, the computer LCD screen opened up automatically, when his wife was trying ot send him a message. FuNNY ya! Once you close the lid, your connections may also get disconnected.

In your opinion, which one better suits the title of the true version of 1408? Would it be the Threatrical Cut, which was shown to the public first, or the Director's Cut, which was the director's view of the film?
