Most of the problems I have had with our jeeps are the fuel regulators going out. 92 cherokee, change it out twice, 93 cherokee, change both fuel pump and regulator out, 93 grand cherokee, 2 fuel pumps and 2 reg.,95 cherokee, fuel regulator. 89 comanche, fuel regulator. If the fuel pump is coming on, that is a good sign, but I would check your fuel pressure, this will tell you if your problem is fuel related or not. They sell fuel pressure...

Sounds like a ground problem to me. When it's cold, metal contracts and you loose connection. A '91 is old and they didn't use the best of wiring back then anyway. Check the battery to ground, engine to ground (rear of engine) and any other ground you can find. My best guess.

Hey, welcome to the site. If you are experiencing no problems, then no, it does not need replaced. The PowerTec 4.0L 6 cylinder engine is plenty capable of 300,000 miles. I kind of question the price quotes, but not knowing your local labor rates, maybe close. I'll offer this for a comparison.
