Bouncy is shocks not springs. Adding leaves to cure sag depends on the condition of the new leaves.

Hey, I was told by the previous owner of my truck that I should add more leaves to the front leaf springs because it is sagging a bit and is really bouncy. How hard is it to do this and what do i need to do? He gave me a bunch of leaves but I don't know how to configure the leaves.. Pictures of the truck are at photobucket.com/edin351 Thanks Eric

Hey Eric, I just noticed this thread. I'm going to jump in for you real quick. (I'm the PO that did the buildup on Eric's truck). I removed 3 or 4 leaves from the front springs to give them more flex offroad (truck is sprungover), but after a couple of years they started to flatten out enough that I think he needs to either add a couple leaves back in, or maybe just get an add-a-leaf and put that in. Figured I'd throw up a picture of the 40 with stock steelies back on. Rims from Gumby + Powdercoat from Advanced Enameling + Hubcaps from eBay = Much better looking rig, in my opinion! I think I might have a whole second set, but I know I only have one set of hub caps. the extra ones I have are also very poor shape. You're welcome to use my sandblaster and powder coater to make them nice again. They also have the right price.

$1400 aint bad. $1100 is better. Assuming it has the 3.0/auto. If its a 22re then its a deal. The 3.0 will run a long time with little maint, but the HG is like playing russian roulette, but the 90 MAY not have a HG issue. 1990 was the year the US changed some HG regs, and if the runner is a 90 it was likely built in 89.....
