I see you have some new fenders. How do those fit? Are they the same quality as the old ones? I am debating whether to blast my old ones and repair or just use the new set I have. I heard the newer stuff is not as good as the originals?

They are new Toyota BJ fenders. I've only set them in place with a couple of hand tight fasteners to check clearances and all the holes seem to line up with the tub, side step etc. The BJ fenders are different than the FJ's in that they have a string of captured nuts around the shock towers for a rubber skirt that came on BJ units. A minor difference but since I had the option I took it. Hilltop Cruisers had them in stock when I was...

Thanks Erik! This is just my list from what I gathered from Gary(previous owner). I added a few other items... I have to be honest, I LOVE original. Original does not necessarily mean better. I'm just one of those guys who thinks it is a crime to mod or even CUT on an original. Maybe a 2.5 lift and larger but skinny tires and call it a day. I love my 1967 FJ40. 3 on tree and drum brakes. Gotta love it!

Thanks Jason. SOR makes the perches, eh? I'll pop on there and see. I wonder if John still has any extra perches laying around? Did you hook up the rear axle hand brake on Wilma? Josh

no on both actuallly :( he just had a pair that he had bought for something and did not use and we horse traded for them. I have rear disk brakes and had spent way too much on setting up a drum ebrake on the back of my split transfer case. in the lv but I would thin you could just hook the cable up to the ebrake handle in your cruiser jason

Looks like the truck took the main hit from the Drivers front corner. The doors look ok along with the main supports between the front and rear doors. To make things easier it would probably be best to replace the firewall and windshield frame--I think once those two items are done the roof could be straitened back to fit the body correctly. Would be interesting to see what frame damage was ...

The only thing I see that could cause that would be severe articulation. Both ends of the axle must have been stuffed at one point with the other end slack. If the sway bar is too stiff it could then collapse the link on the stuffed end?? As for future problems... if the links are weaker than the sway bar they would bend and straighten as the axle articulates - eventually breaking the link ...

There are some older post that address this issues. However there is always debate as to the correctness of the numbers. The bigger question is how many of the rigs still exist today.

bolts I buy all my bolts from a local shop. Just like factory. They gave me a book and the company makes a lot of automotive and metric nuts and bolts. AU - VE - CO. You can order a catalog from them. I buy in bulk and it usually takes around 3 days to get here. Mike __________________ 64...
