1HZ freeze plug block heater?

disagree, been doing this for years with the PZ,HZ engines with good results. i have yet to see one melt into a puddle of aluminum or cook a rad hose, not saying it can't happen just saying i have yet to see this degree of concern. block heaters are crap.

people with jdms don't usually have block heaters stock in their trucks.
i know most people put in a lower rad heater.
though lshobie has a 1HZ with a factory block heater. hes the only guy i have heard that has put on in.
i will be installing a lower rad heater next week, i hear they work good.

I would be worried about the PT 150 being 5mm longer.
You can get the proper glowplugs from aussie ebay $12AUD each

As I mentioned (maybe to you in an earlier post, don't remember), mine has the same noise. Incidentally, the sound in mine has been getting louder and louder too and I was getting worried. Last week, she was due for an oil change and I changed it to my winter blend ( Delo 5W40 Synth) and the sound got a lot quieter. Not gone, but much less.
I'd say carry on driving and don't bother, maybe next ...

Sorry for the poor quality, but is this very crude sketch, essentially what is being accomplished with Greg B's wilson switch setup?

Nice rig!
Well considering it has a 2B or 3B, you won't be breaking axles like a high hp motor does.
It's even LHD...where is it from originally?

My BJ42 shows 260,000km's ,non turbo'd , I get 24 to 28 mpg,and I have been changing the oil and filter appx, every 3k miles .It runs well , no blue smoke at start up, and has good compression. Except for a small/pesky, side cover oil leak ,it uses hardly any oil between changes-max would be 1/2 quart

The only diesel truck you will find is a JDM like the Surf which is the same as the ForeRunner the engine on these is probably not adequate for towing any weight.
The only diesel Toyota that would be capable of towing would be the HJ61 which has a 6 cyl turbo engine I am not sure if the Hz79 Ute which is not available in the Cdn market would be capable of towing even though it is used in the ...

Perhaps that'd be the thriving metropolis of Tuktoyaktuk?? Do remind them that there are 2 major water crossings on way up the Dempster that I believe are still impassable during freeze up and thaw. They might want to check with the NWT website for updates on projected closure times, now that the arctic is in in a cyclical warming trend.
Good for them, everyone should see the Arctic at least ...

If you're in Mexico it will be warm. A diesel in good shape will start with a bit of cranking.
Think of it this way... $125 for new glow plugs, or $2000 for an engine.
