Ha ha, well, I am glad you didn't get the 2WD. Keep your eye peeled for a 4x4. You've already got a vehicle, so no time crunch for you. Take your time and look for good deals. Don't be afriad to go out of state. I bought mine from Reno and flew out there and drove it back. Good excuse to take off work and hit the road. Check craigslist from your area AND surround areas, too. Also, look at eBay. A guy on Yotatech got an 01 or 02...

Working on a boat all day tomorrow. Will research the info in your post. Sounds like a good place to start. Read some old posts on another forum with similar problem. They all pointed towards electrical ground, defective coil or injector, bad sensor or improperly calibrated throttle position sensor. I hate to just start changing parts. Will keep you posted on what develops.

Ditch the cobbled together coil spring spacers ASAP! I built mine after seeing Cornfed spacers - just shop around a little for some manufactured ones, you'll be happy and they're pretty inexpensive. AND keep us posted with the other mods!

I find the Tacoma one of the best expedition type vehicles. It wheels well and can be loaded up with plenty of cargo. To confirm what Jacket said, pre-04's are cheaper and smaller, but do lack a bit in power and comfort. Get what ever you can afford. You'll be happy. __________________ 2001 Tacoma DC TRD Off-Road...

I found an A.R.E camper top with Yakima bars for $400 in Vermont, so I headed out a day later and picked it up. I thre on some new foam tape and clamped it down. It fit pretty good, but later I noticed it was rubbing on my light up on the top back of the cab. I took the cover off, put on some of that waterproof "TUCK TAPE" it's clear and red, the foam strip. For now it will work. Anyone else ...

Toytec makes great products and is company worthy of your support. They also sell OME stuff, which would also suit your needs for a reasonably priced off-road performance suspension. The 05+ coils can be run with stock shocks; I'm sure yours are the same. But if your shocks are well used or worn, I'd suggest upgrading to something that is well-matched with the springs.

Really belongs in Vendors section. If it turns into a sales pitch- it's going to Chat. At this point it is purely informational.

Some more info would be helpful.... 5VZ engine? Truck or 4Runner? Did you get the ECU for the manual trans out of the donor truck? Also specifically, what are you having issue with?
