Power Steering Hose - Do size...

The pressure will be the same. With a smaller diameter hose, the flow volume will be a little lower, so the response time for the boost at the box won't be as fast. You don't want a situation where the flow can't keep up with demand in a quick turn. OTOH, circle track racers with rack and pinion steering sometimes install a flow restrictor to dampen the boost for more road feel.

I would say less then 10,000 from what I can see. It looks nice, but you can find them that also look as nice for 8,000 and less. IMO over 10,000 should have had a frame off or be original and did does not need one. I still say that is a lot of money for what I see underneath. Like it or not a v8 and automatic lower the value of an fj40. To make the outside look that nice and not repair obvious problems underneath shows cutting corners, only...

Never heard of that but it might work. To this old hack, the starter fluid (if you're careful with it) still makes more sense. The truck is starving for fuel and a little bit of starter fluid fumes will really be noticeable. Water (because it's a liquid, not a vapor) might briefly seal the leak if it's a small crack and it might take a long time to get through the crack . You may never notice an impact on rpm's.

36.5/12.5 the old 35's lift is soa , flipped springs in the front with 60 springs in the back , out boarded . 2" longer shackle in the rear and 1" longer in the front (not pictured, stocks are still on in the pictures) the only thing that limits flex is the front fenders .

Greenpiece - Sometimes I'm overly picky about "stock" and sometimes I'm not.....really no rhyme or reason to it. I guess we like what we like! Go figure..... Splangy - Well, on my '76, the roll bar and the jump seat frames are black. I don't know off-hand about the backs of the seats, but I thought they were pewter like the gauge cluster, glove box, front bumper, etc?

I am looking to build my rig as a daily driver that I can take off road when I feel like it. My build budget is about $30K.
By the time you purchase all the drivetrain (including axles w/ lockers?), coilover suspension, alum. tub, wheels tires, etc. & all other goodies seperately, you'll prolly be close to your budget already. I think I'd try & find one already built as close as your ...

Hi All:
The PS pump I used on my FJ40 PS swap was from a '76 K5 Blazer.
Be sure to keep the AC compressor - this can be used as an on-board air source for tires, air tools, etc.
Regards,
Alan

That is a confusing view - 2 different pics, correct? I just did my windshield & other than the screwholes to mount the sheetmetal defrost guides at the top of inside bottom of the frame, I do not recall any other holes near the defrost aperatures. If no one else can definitively answer you, I can check my old frame & tell you what was there.

buying those things that just at that moment fit your needs, you'll have to repeat purchase often. if you can afford the 2k, then 2k it is. if your counting penny's ... AND WE ALL HAVE ... then spend few less and get the 800.
my reccommendation if the 2k.
i have trailed one of my 2k's ... on that trip , three times i watched guys look over to me and beg me to get mine jack out cause ...

Optima's have a lower internal resistance than typical lead acid batteries, so it is possible that your severely drained Optima was accepting a charge at a higher rate than either pair of jumper cables could handle.
It is also possible that the battery malfunctioned and shorted out.
If it was me, I would look up Optima's charging instructions on their website and hook your optima up to...

you can tell by the marks in the paint on the inside of the door that longer, locking cap is hitting. Throw it in the trash and use the standard non-locking cap. As long as it fits properly I wouldn't worry about it really. Problem with 2 diff key solved.
Plus it will look retarded with no door
those dinky locks are not going to stop a determined thief, not even ever a stupid one

he has some very nice well put together kits if you arnt much a fabricator.
and no you wont need shims, thats is what the cut and turn is for, how far to turn depends on amount of lift.
yes you will need to have the driveline lengths changed and longer brake lines
