Installed the Infinity door speakers. put down another roll of ribbon butyle (sp) on the inside of the doors and another new layer of 6mil plastic vapor barrier. Installed new foal around the inside door handle opening. Put the Alpine back in till I get the factory one. Installed all the cleaned switches and I can now say the inside is finished. Took 11 days. Also cranked down the front 3/4" and now it rides very well and also...

i've posted a few times about this but i guess you didnt SEARCH. Either way, there are two torx/flathead screws holding each outer lens in, unscrew and push out, the lens also has two pressure clips on the forward edge. Tailgate ones, yup remove carpet CAREFULLY, as the clips like to pull out of that POS that the carpet is attached to. Then there are two plates, both held on by 3 philips heads, unscrew and remove and you have access to...

Usually the TPS problems are actually the APPS. If you are doing both then consider a whole new throttle body. You'll get the throttle control motor, TPS and APPS along with whatever other updates were made.

I changed to a Alpine Amp and a RockFord Fosgate P2 (12" Subwoofer) and it made a 100% difference. I have the sub turned down becuase I'm really not into the door mirror rattling music.... ookk sometimes... but it was a step to clearing up the weak sounding bass

Depending on what the next few months hold and assuming I can find a nice hundy, I think I might be ahead with a Maggiolina or Columbus if I need more room than the rig itself. I like simple, low impact camping where less is more, especially in transit.

I have the Unichip in my '04Tundra. Didn't give the 10% HP claimed (maybe 10HP) or improve mileage much...just smoothed out the shifts dramatically with no falloff between gears. However, this isn't a problem with the Cruiser. I don't think the expense would be justified in a cruiser.

If you want part with the factory roof rack let me know. I'm interested and I have the factory blanks for the holes.

I could probably get a used one in Japan, but shipping would be a killer.
I think your best bet would be to look for a used one on e-bay, on Mud or CL.
I've got a couple of JAOS'(s?) rear ladders though.
Good luck!

Christo: Looks nice...me likes from this perspective . Would you say you ended up/will end up with less overhang than ARB and TJM? Not to rush you...oh well yes I do ...will you incorporate bracket/tabs for aux lights?

great looking cruiser, it is my favorite color to!
Ur going to want to loose the running boards before you do any off roading at all. They will get bent up very easily (I found that out the hard way).

You need to find a tire that measures out as close to your 295's as possible. And, it is going to vary based on manufacturer, tire and the wheel it is mounted on. Have a safe trip!

This is definitely one of the most worthwhile mods, IMO. If the truck comes equipped with a monitor and DVD player but they only work when parked, what's the point! Not that I condone watching TV while driving, but it's nice to have the option to do so when sitting in traffic, at a red light, etc. Plus, the mod is gonna cost you $0!

the color changed from 98-99 to 00-02 if that makes any difference to you.

Not IMHO. Theoretically, any metallic point connected to the frame, body, etc is a ground (the 1st battery supports this).

remove the 2nd row seats, cram some snacks, soup and a MSI camping stove to heat it up and throw a small inflatable bed back there. That's what I do (can't afford RTT and don't camp enough to need one). Works great in the spring, summer and fall. Just crack the very back windows and you good to go.

I was not aware you could just replace the lower ball joints seperately. When the dealer replaced my front axles, they tore the lower ball joints, so I complained and they ended-up replacing the entire lower control arms.
So, I'd say that's good news for those who ever need to end up replacing them!!

I'm not an expert or anything, but maybe 1" coil spacers in the rear and cranks the tbars a little bit more, you'll have more lift. And you can buy spresso's 12mm body lift kit

The owner's manual warns to only use premium gas...as does the sticker on the access door for the gas cap.
Are there any consequences of uses low octane gas instead of the premium stuff? Mine seems to be indifferent....
