Abs Issue In I10
Published (2009-12-21 17:08:00)
QUOTE (Jezza6406 @ Dec 21 2009, 05:31 PM) Hi All, During the recent cold snap I've noticed the brakes on my i10 become very noisy when the ABS kicks in on icy roads, has anyone else noticed this ? and is this grating sound normal , my dealer says it is. The ABS on my Peugeot 306 just pulses and make hardly any noise.Your comments will be much appreciated. And finally Merry Xmas everyone. i get a ticking noise.

Braking Over A Bump - System Fault?

QUOTE (VeraCruiser @ Dec 22 2009, 03:01 AM) I have had this happen to me off and on over the last year and a half. It happened again today so i decided to do some research. it actually is very disconcerting and i don't think it's "normal." i wasn't going over any large hole or bump when it happened either, just a little glitch in the road....and then that awful sort of ball bearings bouncing...

Rene, to burn the clutch in, find a hill, the steeper the better, engage 1st gear, rev to about 2500rpm, and hold the car on the clutch for 30 seconds or so. Hi Rene, If Hyundai have now solved the clutch judder problem, I suggest you wait before attempting to burn the clutch in as outlined above, this is only a last resort solution to the problem and not guaranteed to work for everyone, please consult your dealer first for information...

Standard Tyre Size On 1.2 Comfort
Published (2009-12-22 04:38:00)
If you've been driving as long as I have, (IMG: style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif ) ,you'll be remembering getting a puncture in a rear-wheel drive car which would have been VERY noticeable. A flat rear tyre in a front-drive car would not be all that obvious when going in a straight line, especially if it only had 1 person in it. Shows how far into each corner the wheels now sit I suppose. A warranty on the tyres came with my...

QUOTE (scm @ Oct 20 2009, 09:42 AM) Yes they are huge difference in cold countries. You change the tyres around November or when temperature drops below 5C (most European countries) and stays that for 3-4 days. In UK doesn't make much sense as winter is normally warmer (tyres stick to the tarmac) and snow or ice on the road is very rare. If you look at climate figures for the UK,...

It sounds like your 'whining noise' might be the clutch release bearing. Does the noise stop when you begin to press the clutch pedal? If so, then the release bearing is the likely culprit. As far as the rear wheel 'grinding' noise is concerned, if the cars been driven in rain or you've washed it then left it parked up, it'll be the virtually instant light rust you get on the rear brake ...

Hi and (IMG: style_emoticons/default/00000732.gif ) to the forum. Hyundai website quotes 'Comfort 165 / 60 R14' as being the radial tyre size. Yes they are 'dinky' ........... but it's a lovely 'dinky' car (IMG: style_emoticons/default/banana.gif ) Mine is a 'Comfort' and indeed it has the above tyres on it. Check the size of your tyres, see if they are the same. Hope this helps ...
