At Wits End...noisy Back End...
Published (2009-12-28 14:21:00)
I have the same problem with my 09 with 4K miles. Mine is an SE and I was about to drop it off at the dealer this week, but maybe I'll wait. I don't like the idea of the mechanics at the dealer tinkering without a clear cut cure in mind. I notice it most when I am by myself (150lbs) on wash board sections of road. It definitely sounds like a bad shock type rattle. This post has been edited by samkent : Today, 02:23 PM

Doors Lock By Themselves
Published (2010-01-02 09:52:00)
Read in the owners manual. It tells about the automatic locking of doors. Also if you go in the trunk and then leave, the car doors will lock.

Hd 2007+ Elantra Alignment Fix
Published (2010-01-04 13:37:00)
I looked here and I'm surprized I did not post this when I had trouble with my HD back in 2007. I know I posted this on EXD. The HD and FD have fixed alignment settings that make adjusting the HD/FD impossible. However I found a SPC Performance EZ arm I used for a Chrysler LHS (98-02) that does fit the HD; part number 67080. After talking with SPC about it, they used my specs to design a arm that is a complete bolt on. (IMG:...

QUOTE (davidsf @ Jan 4 2010, 02:48 PM) Can anyone recommend a good repair manual for the 4G Elantra? I'd like to some simple stuff like change oil/filter, headlight bulbs, etc...BTW does this void the warranty? thanks, David Welcome first off (IMG: style_emoticons/default/00000732.gif ) No, doing your own service will not void the warranty.. Just follow the proper schedule.. Keep the receipts & track the service...

Poor In Snow - Help!
Published (2010-01-02 08:45:00)
The snow tires will make things 1,000% better, but I have some suggestions for handling slippery turns in a front-wheel drive car. "Braking around a turn", especially on ice or snow, is a natural instinct but unfortunately the worst thing you can possibly do. Slow down before the turn, then release the brakes . Keep your rpm low (ie: stay in a higher gear than normal when it is slippery), and look where you want to go as you...

Had the dealer program mine to not unlock when sitting at a stop with the engine running and the transmission in park. Love it !

Rear View Defrosting - Hyundai...
Published (2010-01-03 06:00:00)
(1) Having recently purchased an Elantra my query is defrosting the rear view mirror, the owners manual states this will come on with the rear window defroster if equipped . Is there a way to see if the rear view mirrors are fitted for defrosting ? The rear window is easy as the heating element can be seen, but a search on the internet indicates that with rear view mirrors the heating element is behind the mirror and can't be seen. The...

Hello Tassie 6. if you have a SLX or Elite you have heated mirrors. It's listed in occupant comfort. But all you had to do is ask your dealership. http://www.hyundai.com.au/vehicles/Elantra...a_spe csheet.pdf [ color="#000080"]cheers kayakman[/color]

There's two service schedules. One is for "severe" service. In the definition of severe service, it explains that it includes any car which is driven on "salted" roads in the winter. I presume that includes ALL of Canada. It's all in the owners manual.
