Are these the factory brakes or have you replaced them in the past? From what you describe, it sounds like aftermarket pads were used w/ out the anti-squeal shim on the back. You can sometimes get away w/out them by applying some silicone grease to the backs of the pads and face of the caliper pistons. If it's still the OEM setup, you can release the calipers, pull the pads, clean everything up, apply some sil-glyde or silicone grease to...

I would strongly advise against DIY seatbelt replacement, unless you know what you're doing. The Santa Fe is equipped with pyrotechnic seat belt pretensioners, a safety feature which can go horribly wrong (as in "kaboom") in untrained hands. $100 for the belt plus labour might be a better deal than it first sounds. Edit: From the Hyundai service website: CAUTION! Never attempt to measure the circuit...

QUOTE (stanfordrp @ Nov 27 2009, 08:12 PM) I have a 2009 Santa Fe SE. When it is parked in the driveway a red flashing light is seen comming from the driver's side dashboard light sensor. I've searched the owner's manual and can't find anything about what it means. Does anyone know what it is? It's intended to give the impression of an activated alarm system. However, you'll find that it blinks...

QUOTE (lovemysantafe @ Nov 26 2009, 03:53 PM) You can get integrated Bluetooth on the NA-spec (at least here in the States you can) but it deletes the glasses case. Not cool...not cool. I could be wrong, but that overhead console unit is not tied to the audio head unit. An "integrated" unit to me means: 1. The head unit can download, and display phone book info from cellphone 2. Ability to dial out and...

As I expected this doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the European version. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif ) Missing the fancy grill, chrome roof rails, and signals in the mirrors... I wonder what the inside is like. Ask for a test drive and take some pics! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif ) This post has been edited by jaydee77ca : Today, 09:34 PM

QUOTE (PoMansAWD @ Nov 27 2009, 11:14 AM) How was it not working: Not enough room? Something in the way? Again, your plug is probably positioned slightly different since you are dealing with the 5spd auto as opposed to my 2.7L's 4spd auto. The transmission cases look similar, so any difference should be very minimal. Like said, I don't know of any other posts/threads on a 5spd auto servicing. You're the guinea...

I'd dread losing one and paying to replace it. So how effective is the program? Are the cops happy that they don't ever have to worry about chasing car thieves now? Have you signed up at www.hmaservice.com ? That's got some good info. Other than that you'd probably need helminc.com for a Hyundai FSM. Joel

Structural rigidity... ;) All kidding aside, it just serves as a stop. I removed them on ours when I moved the rails forward for our cargo box. No reason to put them back in, unless you wanted to prevent that front rail from being slid further back, for example.

My tailgate occasionally does not unlock with the remote, no matter how many times you press it. Re-locking and then trying again is the only solution. Because it only happens maybe 10% of the time I've never brought it up with the dealer. (I did report what I feel is a very short-range remote - it rarely works beyond 10 feet or so - and they said it was up to spec.) Please post the...

07 Santa Fe Not only is it not my dog it's a dog we were taking to have checked at the vet because someone dumped it out in our neighborhood and we are trying to find her a new home. She chewed through the Left rear Seatbelt about 3/4 way through and a little bit of the edge on the right hand side. My hubby is not happy. Online Hyundai pricing looks like just the seatbelt will be $100+. ...

Up until now, everyone I have spoken to stated there wasn't. The adjuster screws look identical to the ones that everyone is familiar with for the up and down. They are quite hidden though. The one on the Passenger side is ...

Provided you haven't signed anything yet, swing down to burlington Hyundai on Guelph Line. they are currently holding a sale and were able to bring the Sante fe down to a nice payment for us. Shoot me a PM if you're interested in seeing the dealer costs of the car. It's a number you can use to build up from. A. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif )

That's a tough one until you can pinpoint the exact area. For plastic panels, spraying silicone spray in the seams and gaps can eliminate noises. Felt tape applied in the suspect area works too. Most likely those are the tricks a dealer will do. Joel

QUOTE (contracts34 @ Aug 10 2009, 04:24 PM) Hi Guys Just wondered if anyone has fitted after market running boards, (particularly if you are in the U.K). I have seen some advertised that look pretty good and claim that no drilling is required as they bolt in to pre-drilled chassis points. Any advice welcomed. Regards Anyone????

You shouldn't have any long term effects as a result of this. What you describe isn't really the norm when it comes to electronic throttle body/throttle by wire issues. They are designed to go into a 'limp mode' in the event of failure AND light up various dash lights. Some have a 'limp mode' light in addition to the check engine light, etc.. This mode gives you a fast idle only (no ...

I would look in the glove box for the key. The key to manually close the sun roof should also be in there. I read somewhere about locking wheels and the consensus was not to use them. There are too many different wheels out there so the theft is down. Hope this helps.
