Hi bates772 I also found that the women on this website were the ones who truly understood my anxieties, my emotions, the :coaster: I was on, etc. The barium enema doesn't sound fun--but it makes so much sense to find out if there's anything else your doctor might need know about or work on during your hysterectomy. It may seem that there's nothing but scary stories, but there are many of us who had a pretty good experience. My hospital stay, surgery and recovery went very well and I'm very thankful for that. For many women, a hysterectomy isn't a cure and sometimes problems continue. A hysterectomy, no matter what type, comes with risks and possible complications. It's surgery. lacey, I agree with you. The worst part was waiting and especially the day of the surgery. I knew I needed it but was looking for an out. I talked to my mom the whole ride over(1 1/2 hours) to keep me calm. Bless her, she didn't yell at me although I must have driven her nuts!!!
