Thank you for worrying about me, and yes I did know that. My new doc reasured me that what I am feeling is completely normal, it is just going to take me some time to heal. Which of course we already know that I should know by wed. some test results. So I will be sure to let all you lovely ladies know.

Why am I urinating so much!
Published (2009-11-24 15:32:00)
Hi (((Geeba))) Since you have already been treated for a uti, perhaps it is an overactive bladder as (((shoppingdiva6))) mentioned. I had terrific luck with Azo Standard which is widely available at drug stores. It also helped me to retain the urine for as long as possible during the day to retrain my brain to let my bladder get fuller before urinating. Hope you get some relief soon so that you can sleep more soundly at night!

Do look at the checkpoints that Taurus suggested. Also, I would show the kids your "owies". I think then maybe they will have a little better idea why you are not your old self. it must be very hard with small children. I was about 2 wks post op and my youngest DS (10 yrs old) and I were home alone and he was bored and I told him I was sorry I could not do much and I know this stinks and he looked at me and said...

I was able to go out for lunch at the 2 week point and I probably could've done a movie but not both in the same day. I was doing really well but just felt uncomfortable if I sat upright for too long.

I am not sure what type of surgery you had but I had the DaVinci method and I would have been able to goto the movies probably within a week but I would not have been able to sit through the whole thing. I would have had to stand up sometime during the movie. If I were you I would choose a lunch or a movie. I think if you feel good go for it. I had a wonderful surgeon and he said I could drive within a week and a half and he would have...

I am home from the hospital today. I'm 37 years old and had a LAVH/BSO on 10/12. I felt great yesterday, but I think it was because of all the drugs. Today, I'm doing ok, but I'm in a bit more discomfort today. The incisions on my stomach aren't bothering me its the lower pelvic area discomfort. I'm assuming this is the area of the cervix and uterus. I've been keeping ...

TVH> Day two post op. Surgery went well. Doctor said my uterus was very enlarged but did not have to cut me. I am really sore but up and around, home and taking pain meds. Doctor said to take them for at least 4-5 days. Can't take any NSAIDS because I have Crohn's disease. But all it well. DH is driving me absolutely nuts. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes....

Had my LAVH/BSO on Tuesday and all went well. Was in surgery for 4 hours. Came home yesterday afternnon. Very weak, but moving around as much as I can ( short trips to the bathrrom and kitchen). Gas pains not frequent, which is delightful--although I suspect they'll get worse if I don't have a BM! Will tell moe later

I'm home. Everything went really well. I had some significant pain last night and some bad nausea and vomiting, but at feeling pretty good this morning! I'm already home and my hubby is being really good to me.
I'm just glad it's done- and it feels great to have recovery ahead, and the anxiety gone!

I too have been wondering the same thing.
I had a Da Vinci TLH on Nov. 13th.
I feel pretty good except for a nagging lower back pain that won't go away and BMs are a little bit difficult but improving with prunes and lots of water. Also sitting pulls on my lower back.
I am doing some laundry, folding clothes (but DBF brings up the full basket for me ), some lite ...

AWWW, I am so sorry you feel this way. I was so ready to go back to work. I love my job. I work as an athletic trainer usually 6 days a week at a high school. I cover all the athletic events and I have a blast with the kids. I live alone so I was going super crazy being alone all day. The person who was doing my job was driving me crazy with the lack of work she ...

Right now it's the 'morning after'. I have my nice little calf massager thingies on and some extra oxygen because I've been having sharp pains just below my lungs that make me pant instead of taking deep breaths. There are no secrets around here... the nurse assured me that I will feel much better when I start passing gas. Lovely! All in all, I feel like I am ...

UM, like a tube sock. LOL. When I read this I about died laughing but essentially that is what it looks like. It is sewn on the top (part inside the vagina).
I hope that helps.

I expected to be in sweats for six weeks, but I'm sort of getting the impression I may still need "loose fitting" pants when I go back to work after Jan. 1. Is that right? Those of you who have been down this path? If so, I'd better start looking for some - all of my jeans and pants were slightly snug before my surgery, so I guess it may be quite a while yet before I ...

My LAVH was yesterday. I was very calm and everything went very smoothly and I am back home today. I am amazed at how good I feel and I can't help but think that being prepared mentally has made a tremendous difference ~ Thank you Hyster Sisters

My surgery was yesterday (LAVH) and I'm feeling pretty good! I got to keep an ovary, thank goodness. Pain is well under control with morphine and Toradol. I haven't eaten anything yet, but I'm considering some oatmeal.
I'll post full details in the Hyst-Story section sometime today. Thanks to all of my sisters for the prayers and support!

What type of surgery did you have? I wouldn't hesitate to call your doctor if you think you still need them..really if you are confined to bed due to pain then they need to evaluate and help you with pain management.
Other than that, you can use ibuprofin or tylenol..but long term use of either of those isn't good for your belly...talk to the doctor. So sorry you are...

You have a lot on your plate! ;-) I can only suggest following the checkpoints this site provides to help keep us healthy: http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/view_chk.htm
If you want to go beyond these, you may have to pay a price later. Sometimes there's nothing we can do different...things that HAVE to be done without help. But other than that, it's rolling ...
