Hello! I'm sorry that you're facing surgery but there's information to help you on this site along with support from women who have been through surgery and recovery. Since this is a hysterectomy website their experiences may be different than yours since generally speaking, their cystocele repair is done along with the hysterectomy surgery. I am a 51 yr old married woman with a recent cystocele diagnosis. It is described as a stage 3. I am uncomfortable and wanting to have this repaired very soon. I saw my gyn who recommended I see a urologist for a 2nd opinion. I had a TVT sling placed about 3yrs ago for urinary incontinence. As you can see by my user name, things did not go well for me. I was suppose to have a vaginal hysterectomy done on Dec 16th that would supposedly take less than 2 hours to complete. Instead I ended up with an abdominal cut 6 inches wide and a punctured bladder that took overall 6 hours to fix before being moved to the recovery room. Needless to say, my 4 kids and ...
