Probably easier to cut the front
sump off and plate the hole, then cut the pan base off the rear and weld the front sump onto the new hole you made there. That's been written up on here somewhere.

Clearly a rear/mid sump. The engine came with a front sump and it's only 3/8" clearance from the front end of the girdle to the
power steering rack without the pan on there. I mounted it ...

The shop next door to mine used one. It fit OK but the throttle body it came with was way too big. Something like 100mm. It essentially made the throttle an on/off switch. I personally liked the way you could
modulate the throttle with the factory ITB's on mine.

Awesome! Keep us posted. I am considering this swap in the future. Although I guess I should put at least 5 miles on my new
280z before I consider swapping the engine. lol

One of the problems of the RB26 can be that at high performance levels they tend to flood the head with oil and starve the bottom end.
Some people fit oil restrictors in the galleries to stop too much oil getting up into the head but this can lead to inadequate
oiling at low revs.
The best way is to fit an adequate drain to quickly get the oil back down into the sump.
This fitting is a simple,...

Because the r33 typically had a rb25 it does have the beefier transmission.
r32's almost all entirely had rb20's with the weaker transmission.
