lol, im 5-6. i check my seat adjustments and everything before i welded it in place. i still have a decent amount of room to play with. i didnt want to go too close to the roof and walls because i want to be able to use all my factory panels and be able to put em in without hassle especially the domelight cover panel. the welder is a harbor freight mig welder i think, not sure, my bros letting me use it. im using gasless 0.35 wire. thats...

Well did some drilling and got most of the welds drilled, here is a spot weld cutter drill bit you might want to use for pinch weld removal, it just makes thing so much more easier.(and yes the bit is that big lol) Well after a few hours of drilling I managed to remove part of the floorboard that was still attached to the clip, as you can see you have to drill out the welds up the firewall ...

Well, not sure if I am 100% there yet, but I've been looking at TIG's lately. I've done a bunch of welding including TIG in the past, but never had my own machine. For a while I was working as an industrial maintenance tech. and that particular position involved a lot of SS TIG welding... so I've done a lot, but with that said I'm still not an expert. I am looking for something ...

BTW the question of which auto darkening welding helmet comes up frequently so, Ive got 4 auto darkening hoods now, but I use the cheap a$$ harbor freight hood more and more for two reasons, first it works flawlessly, and second if I screw it up with welding splater Im out something less than $50 so its no big deal to weld overhead or get a bit careless with it, and I can save my $340...

The Spoolmate 200 is a constant voltage machine to run the spool gun, ie a MIG welder. You need a constant current machine to TIG.

Looks great for somebody who says they don't have much experience. Before you weld on your cage - please clean up both pieces of metal you are welding together with a grinder/flap wheel. Ok to cut corners like this on the beauty panels for your cell, but not when doing cage welds.

Everything I've heard about the 180/200 Syncrowaves has been good. They are a dandy little machine for steel, and they will do aluminum. But if aluminum is your primary goal, I'd look at a 250. I did some repair on a wheel, and it took 200 amps just to get it to melt in well. I've got a Precision TIG 275, so it would hold 200.
