You should be able to use the "activate new phone" option. It should say "no contract extension". If it makes any reference to a 1 year or 2 year extension, you should call customer service.

Upgrade before eligible
Published (2008-11-20 19:50:00)
If you are eligible July 4th of 09, that means you have barely had your phone a year this point(Oct of 07 would be my guess if my math is correct as far as when you got your last phone). So unless you are on a plan of 49.99 or higher and are eligible for early upgrade you are SOL. No way they are going to move up your date this early, and it shouldn't be expected.

Well, probably yet another hard-earned lesson, but want to make sure. Bought a used 8830 on eBay in May, wanting to keep my NE2 (in August) for the coming Storm. As seems typical with the 8830, the audio (me speaking to others) is 'garbled'. I send a message to VZW, they told me to do a hard-reset on the phone - didn't help. Was going to get a Storm in the morning, ...

ok, so here's my situation: I've used up all my insurance claims, so Verizon no longer allows me to buy an insurance plan. back in April, I broke my fourth or fifth Razr (it was a Saturday birthday, I was drunk). so I went on eBay and bought a used (stupid, I know, I didn't even think to ask the guy if it still had its original warranty or how old the phone was -exactly-) ...

I was wondering if anyone has ever been able to upgrade with promotional pricing without being eligible. Verizon told me im not eligible till July 4, 2009 for discount pricing. I'm sure there is already a thread here somewhere, but I don't find it. I am currently in contract, and not eligible for any kind of an upgrade. I want the Storm. Can I add an individual line to my current account and get the Storm with a new phone number, then go online and do an ESN change so that the Storm has my current number now, and switch the new phone number just added to my Curve? Then, cancel the new line and number within 30 days, leaving ...

I am currently with a carrier who offers unlimited minutes, but am considering jumping to Verizon for the new BB. Toward that end I have been reading the boards and have not been able to see any postings related to my questions. I know that checking voice mail from your Verizon phone (except nights and weekends) counts against the minutes in a limited minutes plan. This leads...

HI! I went to my local VZW kiosk store (which is in the same mall as I work at) too look at the Motorola ZN4. I wanted to know the full price of the phone, but not one sales rep who help me. My husband wants to get the LG Dare, which would require a change from America's Choice to Nationwide. We are debating whether to get Select at $99/mo plus .99/mb or Choice at $119/mo and unlimited data usage. I saw Verizon's usage example on their website, but I would like more real world applications (we won't be using their ringtone store or whatever). If my ...
