At least they cut the price on the talk/text plans to half that of regular prepaid even if is still .60 a meg. Mingo's regular rates though are that.

Call them up tell them it said nothing about USED phone (or even refurbished) 140 hours is not much, I already have 60 hours on my 1 month old U350... but still a lot for a phone that many people would think is new (as it doesn't say otherwise)

Because, you aren't thinking about what is the underlying cause of why data does not work or would work. Data transmission signal/destination. As long as an Alltel phone has the correct settings (which may or may not work as intended as it is), it should be able to make a connection and use data.
One simple answer is to simply flash the Alltel phone to the Verizon firmware....

It still kind of astonishes me that prepaid is actually a better option financially for many users now. Not long ago prepaid only made sense as a very limited use emergency phone, but now it really is a better deal than any of the post paid budget plans.

I'd be ticked off too. Verizon LG 8300s in good used condition are way cheaper even though they don't have the web configs.
Liberty Wireless has inconsistent quality on their phones too.
But at least those are free. And smartphones. The LG you bought was neither.
I would ask for a refund or exchange. Not supported? That's the whole point of getting a PPC phone. Might...

Dial 611 and you should get a recording that says "Welcome to Verizon Wireless". If it says some other company, you are not receiving a Verizon tower. Try going into town or some other location see if it gets on Verizon then try OTA again. On a Verizon signal, these phones OTA no problem there is no need to manual program.
Also make sure there were no typos in the ESN you ...
