This is my first post here. I used the instructions to flash my Koodo Keybo with the Telus firmware as listed at the beginning of this thread. I noticed that the phone does strange things such as crash when you try to set hotkeys and there appear to be extra "Verizon Wireless" files on the phone now. I used BitPim to look through the folders etc. and noticed that there are many "extra" files on the phone...

The whole point of Koodo is to be cheap and basic. I doubt they will go smartphones/data plans because it will essentially defeat the purpose of why they started it.

I looked at the Koodo rate plans and they are attractive BUT they need to get better phones. Hopefully that will be the case when they go HSPA. Besides the whole point of FIDO (or any discount brand) is that yes you do have basic phones but also have smartphones that are reasonably price and functional. Maybe not an iPhone 3GS but still something that is useful.

I'm still having problems with this step: Get CDMA Workshop. Use this to back up your NAM, and recieve your spc code. The demo will work fine for this It only recognizes port 1, and my phone is on port 10... do I need to do this step, or can I just flash and it will still work?

You can't buy a Koodo phone with Telus Pay and Talk credit. Porting a Telus Pay and Talk number to Koodo had no fees when I did it (May 2008), but it does close your Pay and Talk account (so be sure to clear out your Pay and Talk credit beforehand).

Unlimited calling to/from those 5 numbers. Any calls will not touch your minutes and won't charge you long distance.

This happens with all carriers, particularly with inter-carrier messages. You won't improve things going to anywhere else.
