It usually takes more than overnight with rice, more like a few days, with the phone completely off. Chances are by now, the damage is done. Are the water indicators tripped (red)?

Do you have it set for auto sync or manual?
If the former, that may be the root cause.
If it is set to auto sync, tick the box in the settings
for Manually Manage Music and click apply.

This works if you want to sync music on multiple operating systems/computers. I just did it with my 3GS last week when I upgraded to Win7 and it worked like a charm.

I doubt there will be any worthwhile deals. Even AT&T deals explicitly exclude the iPhone. Apple usually sucks with any type of discount (other than developer).
