Oh ok I thought flashing phones was common practice by cell phone stores. This is my first time that I've had to purchase another carrier's phone so I'm still learning. Is this something I should just get a professional flasher/unlocker to do or is it something that I can do with my phone, a USB cable, and some computer software?

the esn number in the menu was the same as the hex number on the back of the phone. i took the phone into a verizon store today and they said since its an alltel phone it wont work with verizon.

My phone worked fine when I drove thru in October. But it was not on an Alltel system. Like Tim said you would be on Verizon.

No dice. Been plugged in for 20 hours. Still won't turn on. The light actually blinks once, then pauses and blinks 4 times. It does this over and over at all times.

Yes, I was mistaken...with no mobile os...it is not considered a smartphone...but at least the tethering is still accurate..haha..

The $9.99 Connect Pack 1 option is supposed to be for data through the phone ONLY like if you want to use the phone's built-in web browser, check e-mail on your phone, etc.
The $30 tether charge is if you want to use your phone as a modem surf the internet through your computer.
You can have the Connect Pak 1 only, Tether only, or both.
Currently Alltel does let ...
