I think what I am looking for doesn't exist as a vist option. As I remember it I think Windows 98 had a provision for locking the icons in position. I don't see it on XP. Thanks anyway. Stay far far away from registry cleaners. They do more harm than good. Your issues have nothing to do with entries in the registry. The registry is a data table for the OS.
