Anybody have an update on the park? According to their website they should be going out to bid fairly soon, if not already, and construction is to commence this summer and finishing Fall '07. I'd expect to see a final site plan before they go out to bid, right?

Could an office tower be added to the top of it?... QUOTE Located in the heart of the Allen Center /Cullen Center complex, the Allen Center Garage could accommodate an office building above it. The site fronts on historic Antioch Park and would have unobstructed views to the west. http://www.brookfieldproperties.com/proper...devel opment.cfm Anyone know if that was there before?...

Anyone know the latest news on this project? I'm assuming its been put on hold due to the current economic climate. I was walking around looking at this building the other day and was thinking if I had fantasy money it would be a great place to buy and remodel and build some sort of wedding chapel and reception hall with a large ballroom and suites etc. You could turn the top floors into ...

While on my way to the baseball game, I was looking at the old Milam hoteland was stunned when I actually saw PEOPLE at one of the lower "deck" ofthe hotel facing AWAY from crawford (the name escapes me now, for somereason..) and they were barely visible from the street, but they as if theywere just sitting there at a bench or table. As I approached MMP, I saw afire hydrant with a hose going INTO...

I just wanted to know what everyone thinks of the new lighting on the crown of the Continential Building. Personally, i miss the blue lighting with the Continential logo but i still like the new lighting because its a little more pronounced. Does anyone know why they stopped the blue lighting?

It's not the Rockettes, but it's a start. I got this tidbit in the e-mail today: ------------- Downtown Districts Holiday Spectacular will kick off with the H-E-B Holiday Parade Thanksgiving Day and continue through December with the Theater Districts merry medley of shows from the Nutcracker to A Christmas Carol; Downtown Aquariums Winter Wonderland and Breakfast with Santa; holiday ...

QUOTE (Daniepwils @ Monday, August 13th, 2007 @ 3:50pm) I don't know if there were anymore buyers. I don't think there are at the moment. I do know that the one I looked at was 170.46 per sq.ft. (1730sqft). I think the smaller ones were 200+ per sq.ft. Attended an open house for Kirby Lofts today. There are a ton of them that are unoccupied and for sale. Anyone have any ...

It looks like the landscaping has been installed around the new parking garage at Bagby and Allen Parkway, so I am wondering if there won't be any additional work done on the design or facade of the structure? I read that a Heritage Plaza parking garage design received an architecture prize, but obviously what now exists isn't distinguished. A few months ago, I saw a contemporary, ...

I just moved back to Houston after being away for nearly four years, and this website has been just about the most interesting thing I've seen in a long time . . . I'm considering living in the Houston House Apartments, and I wanted to get a second opinion from Houston's most knowledgeable building forum. I really liked the apartment, but I'm concerned about the negative reviews on ...
