House Now "cash Only"...
Published (2010-01-06 21:26:00)
I spoke to the chap selling it today when I had a look around but without knowing that they'd set it to "cash only". He seemed to just want to sell, it's been on the market for a couple of years with little interest. He's entirely within his rights to raise the asking price, I just found it odd that someone would switch to a "cash only" sale when they've been unable to shift it....

Have been in a similar situation with seller in Glasgow. House in question on the market for over a year and seller refused to get home report. We went to effort of survey despite lack of effort on sellers behalf which showed a valuation £15k below what the seller is wanting. We bid valuation which was rejected though seller reduced to asking only 10k over. Have spoken to the EA again today after 3 months to attempt to put pressure on them...

My regular ESPC search (2+ bedrooms, £150,000+, Marchmont, Bruntsfield, Merchiston and Morningside) is now returning exactly 50 properties. This time last year, and for a long time around summer 2008, there were about 120. Ive just dug out an old post of mine (#77 on this thread) from 16 September 2008, when the...

I need a bit of advice please. We found a house, it's at a knock down price but we were keen on having a closer look. I will, on Friday have a structural engineers report which states that it clearly is mortagable and ...

If you want it, it can't do any harm at all to put in the same offer again.

Hi. It would appear it's been on since 30th October, price unchanged. Ground floor flat next door to a pub, with a food trailer also in the cul-de-sac bit on Google maps. I would request the home report first. I would also want to see the seller statements and quiz the seller to see if there have been any problems with the flat ie vandalism, noise, neighbours how long they have owned for ...

QUOTE (Redhat Sly @ Jan 5 2009, 06:55 PM) This one is a good try. There were 2 cottages on sale for ages in 2007 for offers over £210k. I know a person who has just bought a flat in the new Westerinch development in Bathgate for the purpose of letting out. Scotland as a whole didnt rise in price like the big cities in England, so you honestly think we will fall, if at all? I can see a flat spot for a bit but cerainly no notable falls. Thoughts?

Of that stonking 18% YOY, almost half comes from the last two months alone.
If the ESPC tried to ramp it as a 2 month 10% increase, I think the sheeple would have a better understanding of just how significant the" town house" skew effect is in low volumes.
Want to see the ESPC quarterly ...
