Girder alignment question
Published (2009-11-29 18:47:19)
Just so I`m clear...when you say alignment, are you saying for example, that one leg of the girder would be higher or lower then the other? if so, it would be mainly due to the leg to arm connections...both upper, and lower tree could be loose, and it should still stay pretty aligned..my girder is not even on a bike right now, and the legs stay true..its all about the leg to arm, and arm to tree connections/bushings

The 29 smoothbores had 3 screw tops as well.. with a few other tell tale signs to differentiate them.. To recap... 2 screw tops are 28mm Mikunis from the 73-76 KZ 900s.. 3 screw tops and regular bowls are 26mm Mikunis from the 77-79 KZ1000s. 3 screw tops and accelerator pumps are 26mm Mikunis from the 80 KZ1000s. 3 screw tops and 5 orfaces in the air horn part (as opposed to 3 in the 26s) are 29mm Smoothbores... You could get a set of 26mm, 3...

If your talking about drag pipes they will most likely drag in turns. You can always make some. Worked for me, my lowest point on my bike in turns is my heals.

Some states, like Calif, want a bill of sale and the title signed by the seller .Just have the other guy supply the same info with his half of the deal .It's never a bad idea to verify the info against thier ID,particularly with an interstate/long distance deal. That way if there's a problem,it could make it easier to track the other guy down....................................

What do you need done? The early carbs are fairly simple, you can do it pretty easily. Any shop will most likely bend you over since they are older bikes, hell, the shops around here won't even touch one of these bikes because of their age.

Hook the wire that goes to the 1-4 coil from the dyna to the 2-3 coil and see if you are getting spark. If you are, then the problem is probably in the 2-3 pickup from the dyna. If no spark still, then the problem is probably coil, wire or plugs. If the pickup coil in the dyna is bad, you are going to have to replace it. call dyna tech support, they may have some other test for you to try. They ...

Hi , you should have oil more on the exhaust side. Do to cam rotaton .Both sides of motor should have oil, if you do not you will burn half the cam an rocker boxs out . To fix this you have to pull the cam and rocker box off the top of your engine .There is a orfies in the head this sends oil to the box then the cam. Carefully!!! pull the orfies out, clean and replace then blow air throw all the ...

Thats way too small of a sprocket for the 750.. Thats smaller than the ones that come on a servi-car rear end... and those are alwaysa probl;em to solve the gearing.. The aren't 750 wheels are they..?? I've never seen a sprocket that small for a 750. Unless maybe its a 630 sprocket.. but thats even small for a 630 I think ... The only 530 countershaft sprockets available are 15, 16, 17, and...

I think that you can. I don't really think that it is a good idea though. All structual things aside, I've had bars that I know are just where I want them and that nothing is going to change that. Six months later, I'm loosening them for one thing or another. Another thing is that the bars are pretty vulnerable if the bike goes down, moving or in the garage. How easy is it going to be to fix if ...

KentuckyBryan, That looks like a great find. Do a little research on the 77/78 CB750F. They are rare and parts are hard to find. I know because I have a 77 and 78. The side cover is almost impossible to find. There are some differences in the motor so be aware of that. Also the frame is different, so unless you have some fabrication skills, things that will fit "K" models (weld on hard tail) ...

Looks pretty good - not sure myself about the plug weld. It's my understanding that the length of the slug should be twice the OD of the tube your slugging extending out from the join spot. Meaning 2" on each side, you said 1".

I assume your talking about a 16inch tire...if so..I`ve ran a "front" tire on the back several times..for ALOT of miles..no problems.. however, if it has an arrow on it signaling the direction of rotation...flip it around, so its going the opisite direction as the arrow...
