Take the four screws out of the bottom of the carb that holds the float bowl.Once this is removed you will see the head of the main jet with the slots cut into it for a flathead screwdriver.Remove the jet and replace with new.

I'm almost positive there is no internal engine upgrades for the 1300. The 1800 has some kits you can buy. But seriously you want to do major engine work just to get a cam with more "lope"? Just replacing a cam really does almost nothing if you don't pair it with some head work, a big intake and some free flowing exhaust.
