I have heard of problems with the FITV, some times the valve inside can back itself all the way out, there is a little plate on it secured by 2 screws, when you remove it, you will see a doughnut shaped screw with 2 slots on it, you need to screw it all the way down and back it off half a turn. I would suggest you take off and clean the IACV too, there's a litle screen in there that can get carbon build-up and restrict your air flow....

Swap or sell ?
Published (2009-11-26 01:09:00)
yea, but I dont know entirely how this h23 or h22 deal goes, can you tell me dude? Like does my car become same as a Vtec in performence if I just swaped the engine(with all the ecu and stuff thats needed) are all the chassis, weights etc the same and different engines or something else ? because the H23 cars are built to be na and the Vtecs are built for well being a fing Vtec... so I dont know a, tell me.. So, bottom line, does a H22a Swap...

Well it might be a broken gasket somewhere. That's what mine had when i took it for a check-up. Idk how hard it would be to fix cuz I've never done it. I suggest taking it to a shop if you are not good with mechanical stuff.

ANYWHERE is a big fine if you're found without one if you are supposed to. If you have nothing wrong with your cat, I suggest leaving it in. Mine was actually broken and peices had shifted perpendicular to the flow causing a huge decrease in gas milage and power. That is the ONLY reason I "removed the internals" of mine. The exhaust fumes are terrible smelling (nothing like a carbureted vehicle ...
