^ I like your choice of E, except the auto part ;) the guy dropped it down to "invoice" (which was really invoice + destination) pretty quickly, then offer to split the 400 dealer fee so another 200. I'm really feeling like this should be had for less than invoice (no destination) and no dealer fees. invoice for 2009 lx 2wd at is 18878. I was hoping to get it to start with a 17, and I'll never pay bs dealer fees. I...

Due to the very low miles per year we put on the car, extending their warranty just 2 years did us no good, since the years triggered before the mileage. 6 years is a lot of years to be ignoring a bad design on a major pricey chunk of a driveline. And 65000 miles on a transmission would not get me flustered if I had tried to save money initially and bought a KIA or something and would be expecting those kind of problems. And yes, I will never...

The thing I've always said, and continue to say, is that I'm entirely confused by the people who write off an entire company because of one bad experience. I owned an '86 Chrysler LeBaron GTS that was a royal POS. But, that doesn't mean I'll never buy a Chrysler again. If I'm ever interested in a Chrysler product (not likely given their current product portfolio, but...), I'll research, test drive, and see...

hello all, I bought my Elemae from Bryan Honda in Fayetteville, NC ITs a new 2009 EX with no accessories when I bought it. The Total price I paid was $25259.00. I was lucky to have the cash for clunkers which shaved off $4500, but that was not from Honda. If anyone needs a new OEM radio for the 2009-EX Element or factory speakers, let me know. They are brand spanking new.

If the E has been maintained and not abused then 135k is nothing. One of my Es has almost 150k and still runs like the day we drove her off the lot.
I expect to see 300k out of my Es.
BTW the one E with 150k is a 2004.
As for the 8k price...is that a Honda dealer asking that?
Is it a 4wd or 2wd?
For a 4wd 03 EX with 135k, kelly blue book says 5k - 10k in excellent condition....

" Mendel declined to say when it will arrive, whether it will look like the current Element or even whether it will be named Element."
wow, could he decline to say much more about it? (he then turned, wispered "I was never here" and disappeared in a cloud of smoke)
So, someday Honda will make another vehicle that they think will fill a similar need to the Element and it may or may not ...

am i getting the nub question ignore?
I remember when I bought my 05 there was a thread describing the invoice prices and what could be had in relation to invoice for buying a new one. I'm wondering if that exists updated for 09 10, or if anyone has any tips for this economy/end of the year deal buying as what they may be wiling to do in the situation described above.
I read the fax ...

I would not buy a used Element that has a tow hitch already installed because you never know what they actually towed. If they exceeded the towing capacity the life of the transmission would be shortened and additional trouble might also occur. It is best to try to avoid any possible problems.

Hi Nasty2004, nice introduction.
You didn't mention whether you've driven an MT Element. If not, find one and do. Low-mile used MTs are may be hard to find, but they'll pop up.
From where I sit, the E works fine as an only car—use it up and enjoy. If you can afford to keep a fun car on the side, great, but need should trump want.
As for your technical question, there's an answer here ...

Just wanted to add that the resale on Es is unbelieveable, I first looked
at some used Es and I almost bought an '03 EX with 43000 miles for $17600
but I got a new LX for $18000.
