the ohm's law you wrote about was superb. new knowledge for my mind. always good to learn something new. i cant argue at all for changing the fuse 5 amps higher on the headlight. i just did it because i read it off of hidplanet.com. not everybody is right, but i absolutely agree with your knowledge of a fuse having the exact amp that it is made for. anyways, the wireharness has one input for one headlamp only. it takes the signal from the...

I saw this in my toolbox when I first started taking the E apart, and have used it ever since. I sharpened the tip just a little with my dremel, but you really don't even need to do that. Glad this has helped someone out. And, I can testify for popping at least one beer.

You'll need wire, wire taps and a few diodes. Diodes are basically electronic check valves that let power flow in only one direction. Hook one in each one of your wires you're tapping into the lighting circuit (park, low or high beam) and away you go.

look under the hood for the wiring....if you can find some, follow it into the cabin area. Pull of the panel by the fuse box and look in there too...maybe you'll spot something "aftermaket" and be able to trace it. Maybe there is a switch on the steering column or turn signal stalk? Good luck, and welcome to the EOC!

I bought these exact foglights. If I remember, that was the cheapest I could find. I switched out the bulbs (to yellow PIAs) before I installed them. I can say that I have never worked on a car before (until my E) and I know next to nothing about wiring, etc. I was comfortable taking off the front end because I had already done it for the Home Depot grill mod. With that being said, I did the...

I went on a camping trip last weekend ended up sleeping in my E instead of the tent because of the thunder and lightening storms we were getting. I realized the sleeping in the E is great because it is comfortable and it cuts down on the noise coming from other campsites. I quickly realized that in order to get out of my E, I had to climb over the front seat. (That sucks!!) I searched the forums...

If you are interested in a replacement mirror like the Lane changer that does not require you to remount and replace the complete mirror there is an option. Check your local auto parts house for a panoramic mirror. Auto Zone and Discount Auto both stock a clip on style panoramic mirror that does what it says...it clips on the exhisting rear view mirror. I have one on my E and can see from out ...
