96 Civic Radio Problem

It is possible that the outlet line may be inop as well. You might try slightly moving the key back and forth a bit once the engine has started and see if the missing voltage trys to return (don't go too far and grind the starter) I tried having constant power to the audio for a while and it does not work for me... did I turn my stereo off ?? damn. I would try to use the outlet if it works.

96 Civic Radio Problem

Haven't checked that but I will. I thought about connecting it to the constant 12v power for the memory and just shutting off the radio when I turn off the car. What would cause that line to go dead after starting the car though?

Fuse Confusion
Published (2009-12-07 04:00:00)
First of all, I have limited experience with electrical components (and theory), but I know exactly what I'm trying to accomplish and why (just not entirely how). Get this, I'm working on a "battery eliminator" for a portable audio device in my car (which will replace a 1.5v AAA battery with 1.5 volts drawn from the car battery). Here's the jist: [12v to 1.5v converter/power adapter]--[fuse?]--[1.5v portable...

A much better option would be get the right connectors to fit the terminals on the speaker and attach them to the speaker wire.

Powered Tube Sub For Si...
Published (2009-12-08 04:00:00)
I've got an 09 Si Sedan, with Clarion Max685BT head, 4 Polk 685 and a 200W Kicker amp. I'm thinking about replacing the original powered sub with a Fusion EN-AT1100 10" Active bass tube that has a built-in 300W amp.. What do the experts say? I don't listen to my music really loud, but I do like to have some clean, kick to my base, rather than the usual fuzzy boom that I hear from most subs that drive up beside me....

Installing these (or whatever size you need) should provide a waterproof barrier and keep this popping at bay.

Did you blow it? sometimes, the speaker will make a rattling or popping sound.

You could check the 12 volt outlet port to see if it has power. ( it should work the same way as the line you are working with) If it has power after starting use it as your source.

water still gets in the door. happened to me all the time so finally i got rid of the connectors and wrapped the wire directly around the speaker terminals. you need to check the connection at the speakers.

Its so funny u say that because I know its the blue wire for the 2003 and lower. But I don't have a blue wire coming off the fog light switch. I am looking at the Chilton book and it shows 5 wires coming off the switch. In reality I have like 9, and the Chiltons shows a blue wire.. I dont have a blue wire coming off my switch. I am pretty sure these are OEM lights. I have OEM glass housings...

fuse size depends on wire size. its to protect the wire from failure due to power surges or too much current. now the device's amp draw will determine what thickness of wire you need. if you pick too low of a wire/fuse combo, the fuse will blow and you will need to switch to a thicker wire with higher amp fuse. or just pick a larger wire size that will work for sure like 14 gauge. heres the ...

Hello
I recently purchased some Infinity reference 6022i for the front of my 2001 Civic Lx Sedan. Installing the speakers were a bit of a pain because i needed to make a 1/2 spacer but they finally fit right. After i installed them i turned on my car and tested the new speakers out, they sounded perfect.
Well about a day later while listening to my music, I noticed that the Right ...

I'm getting a new in-dash unit so I can plug my ipod into it.
My car already had a infinity sound system installed when I bought it, I was wondering if I add 2 subs to it, will I need a more powerful in-dash unit or can I add an amp and then it doesn't matter how powerful the indash is?
The ones I'm looking at are 200 and 320 watts. Is that enough for a sound system without subs?...

Hello. I'm new to this forum but do intend to stay even after my problem is resolved. I had to disconnect the battery for a particular reason, but now the radio displays the messsage "COdE."
I have searched everywhere on the internet for a solution. There is no sticker on my car with the number, I have nothing in my glove box concerning the number, I have been to Honda's websites ...
